My friends won a local DJ battle a month or so back, and just recently posted the winning mix. I think it's lots of fun, and at only 20 minutes it's quite compact and varied. Good poo poo for a rainy tuesday afternoon.

One of the stages at the best festival ever just released its lineup, only most acts on that stage are funk house or break djs and I'm not much into that scene. I enjoy it though, so I'm looking for recommendations on any acts that are particularily worth checking out.

I'm seeing Siriusmo this summer, is it going to be as amazing as I think it will be?

so he finally got over his fear of performing live? good to hear

I wouldn't look for it to start a trend or anything. He's known to play shows very occasionally, this is just one of those occasions. I've always loved any of the random remixes I've heard from him over the years, really excited to see how that translates to a dj set.

Someone's put together an amazingly well-edited amateur video of the happiest EDM party in the world. The music choice is a bit dubious but it's worth checking out (and so is the festival, seriously, it's something else). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rg3yAFN9FCw&feature=player_embedded

In other news I just got $5 tickets for Dillon Francis on saturday, but then discovered that Grahmzilla and Jubilee are playing a much better, smaller venue nearby (across the downtown of a small ontario university town). I'm thinking I should just get tickets for that too and split my time but I'm willing to sacrifice one or the other if there's strong opinions on the matter.

Dubious for that kind of festival maybe; that's one of skrillex's most well-made tracks.

Also I'd be much more impressed if they synced the dancing clips to the music BPM :colbert:
Sick looking festival, though.

Hah, I actually like that song, as well as most of Skrillex's stuff, I just put that bit in to pre-empt the inevitable douche parade from Thretis et al. He played there this year, in fact, and absolutely killed it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHMeBHi9858

This video is particularily noteworthy for two things: First is the hilarious bro party that occurs around the three minute mark. For most of the set there were two sexy ladies dancing on top of the (120k watt) speaker stacks, but they got down right as Cinema started. Cue about 20 bros hopping up in the span of 20 seconds, and, no poo poo, standing in a line and pelvic thrusting rhythmically in unison. One of the most hilariously homoerotic things I've ever seen.

Second noteworthy thing is at the end of the video Calvertron goes missing, the crowd tries to find him, and Skrillex puts his ipod on shuffle.

The new Presets song is really... something? A bit concerned if this is the best they can choose for a second single.

Ridha seems to have been on the lead for this though as it seems a little restrained for something Skrillex had a part in... Not that I'm complaining.

He's not the greatest producer ever or anything but it's comments like this that make me think the Skrillex bashers have never listened to much he's ever done.

Savant just changed his Toronto venue to the Annex Wreckroom from Footwork. Anyone been? Upgrade/downgrade?
