I don't mean to come off in a "I make disco I am the judge of all good things disco" type of manner, I think I've just heard a lot (I truly love disco and disco house) and it seems a little meh. Maybe I just don't have the attention span anymore for tracky disco :[

e: and thanks for the compliment :)
Speaking of. Melee Beats, you got any recommendations for some need-to-listen disco and disco house artists out there...being from a younger generation, this isn't something I'm really to in touch with and honestly, disco is something I'm exposed to with the house tracks coming out these days. The connection between between the two fascinates me, and it's a part of dance music history that I need to listen to more.

I know disco/disco house is a huge loving category but any jumping off point is enough. Also that loving Top 25 House list you put together has such a special place on my ipod (cause it's always on repeat)

Speaking of disco, Herve and Trevor Lovey have a new track out. "Check Out Your Groove" on Beatport. You can hear the full version on Herve's myspace. It's pretty much the same thing. I like the little extra vocals on the myspace version though

Sweet, good looks. I actually have a couple of songs by the suave frenchman in my library already. That means I'm on the right track though. I'll be sure to pick up Disco Forever.

The video is pretty drat cool, and I really dig the female vocals but the hip hop autotune bits completely ruin this song for me. It really could've represented a fresh sound, but no, it had to fall back to top-40 mediocrity.
I mean, I personally love Ricky Blaze's vocals in the song. It's not the auto-tune I like or even the chorus which is really what implements it, but I just like how he sings and goes about projecting the lyrics, it's got that reggae style to it. But yeah, autotune sucks. However, Nina Sky's voice is gorgeous and perfect (she performed it live w/ Major Lazor at HARD NYC) and apparently Diplo agrees:
Major Lazer ft. Nina Sky - Keep it Goin' Louder - Diplo Remix . I'm rather partial to this version as opposed to the album, but that doesn't keep this song from being my favorite thing to come off of Guns Don't Kill, Lazers Do.

Do you know what the deal is with Ultra and being under 21? I've heard everything moves into clubs at night so there isn't really any point to going if you are under 21/don't have a fake.

peo de pitte did a remix of Riverside adding some much needed the variation to the original w/ some added vocal samples from Wildchild. The original was catchy, but Peo De Pitte added some much needed bounce.

So I want to get into mixing and making my own mixes for parties and stuff but I have no idea how to beat match or anything. Help on how to start or can someone point me in the right direction?
Start listening to a poo poo ton of more music. Bloghouse is a great way to get into it, but a lot of stuff you won't find most DJs spinning at a party (deathelectro is a great example of good music, but not to fitting for raging). Dancehall, House, Bmore, Disco, Dubstep, etc. Get traktor and a cheap little mixer to gently caress around on. I bought an X-Session Pro and it's perfect for loving around on and it's only like 100 bucks. Also utilize your keyboard, you'll be mixing a lot from your laptop before you're finally ready to move on and buy a real mixer and an audio interface.

:siren:Looking fo' mo bmore and dancehall inspired electronic music:siren: I've gotten every single one of emynd's and Top Billin's EPs and listened it to death. Looking for more stuff like producers emynd in particular.

Top Billin's "One for the ladies" gets girls wet and gets you laid :ssh:

I've been enjoying the track a lot lately: Stranger to Stability (Len Faki Remix) Anybody got anything that resemble the likes of it

any really catchy dubstep suggestions, preferably female vocals ala la roux/imogen heap?
These are pretty popular, but what the hell, maybe someone hasn't heard of them. (if you haven't, you've been living under a rock)

Ellie Goulding- Starry Eyed (Jakwob remix)
Ellie Goulding- Under the Sheets (Jakwob Remix)
16bit- Toxic
Simian Mobile Disco- Cruel Intentions (Joker Remix)
Passion Pit- The Reeling (Flufftronix Remix
Imogen Heap - Hide and Seek (Roksonix Remix)
Also get the Luvstep mix from Flufftronix and Dirty South Joe. It's chock full of that stuff. Just check the dubstep thread regularly they'll give the lowdown and it's a awesome place to discover less well known tracks.

All the credit for these goes to the real dubsteppahs in the dubstep thread...I am but a sweaty bro to your realness

So NoisePorn had an entry on PeaceTreaty

quote:

Earning the respect of such massive players in the dance music scene as Kissy Sell Out, Fake Blood and Tommie Sunshine is certainly no mean feat, but Californian duo PeaceTreaty have managed to do so in literally a matter of months. The boys have only been producing together since the beginning of the year and already have several monumental tunes under their belt. Friends of the blogosphere at large, the pair are living up to their moniker and have given us a whole bunch of tunes to share. Exploding with massive, wonky electro synth-lines and moody warehouse-style techno percussion, most of these tunes would fit tidily in a tech-house or electro-house set, preferably in a stadium somewhere! The musical equivalent of setting off a bunch of fireworks in a club, you’ll definitely get a reaction by dropping one of these. Enjoy!

Here's a link to the entry and to the massive tunes, which include remixes of Bart B More, Riva Starr, and Harvard Bass, and literally everyone single one of them is fire
