I know a guy who was on the SAR crash of their new Sikorsky a few years back. Here’s hoping the government learned from that one: Their immediate response was to blame the aircrew, but it turned out they had not purchased either a simulator or spare parts so those guys were considered qualified after a few days in the UK on their sim and had basically no training hours. lovely loving reason to get guys killed.
