I was reading CineD and someone mentioned that the producers of 2009's The Fourth Kind film actually hired a marketing team to vandalize wikipedia to make fake articles on the fictional characters of the film portraying them as real people, including editing the article for Nome, Alaska citing fictional bullshit claims about people disappearing in the city with references to outside fake news pages set up by the producers. There's a bunch of sperging in the discussion section of the film's page and the nome, alaska page but it's still pretty reprehensible that a movie studio would resort to vandalizing wikipedia to promote a movie. Edit: supposedly the editors banned the marketing team accounts but they kept making new ones and switching ip addresses in order to put the fake edits in and weaselword "facts" around it too got dat wmd fucked around with this message at 01:09 on Oct 3, 2010 |

couldnt decide if this should go here or in catte threade so here i put it in both The invention of the cat flap is attributed to Isaac Newton in a story by a 'Country Parson' to the effect that Newton foolishly made a large hole for the mother and a small one for the kittens, not realizing the kittens would follow the mother through the large one.[3] Two Newton biographers cite passages saying that Newton kept 'neither cat nor dog in his chamber'[4] J. M. F. Wright, writing in his memoir Alma Mater in 1827, was an inhabitant of Newton's 'set' in Trinity and reported this same story, adding "Whether this account be true or false, indisputably true is it that there are in the door to this day two plugged holes of the proper dimensions for the respective egresses of cat and kitten." (Alma Mater, Vol.1, p17)

The 2004 film Finding Neverland used a Great Pyrenees to represent J.M. Barrie's Landseer Newfoundland dog. The Spanish designer Javier Mariscal was inspired by this dog breed for the design of the 1992 Summer Olympics mascot "Cobi". In Hanazakarino Kimitachihe, the male lead had a Great Pyrenees named "Yu Ci Lan" for a pet. In the television series, King of Queens, a Great Pyrenees is a recurring customer of Holly the dog walker. The Japanese series Ginga Densetsu Weed features a Great Pyrenees named Hiro, who is nicknamed the "ball snatcher", due to his signature attack of neutering his opponents. In the film Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines (1965), a Great Pyrenees is the household dog at the Lord Rawnsley estate. In the Marx Brothers' Horse Feathers a Great Pyrenees appears in the dog catcher's wagon. In the Korean variety show Happy Sunday - 1 Night 2 Days, Sang Geun is a Great Pyrenees. A popular Korean singer, Hero Jaejoong from TVXQ owns a Great Pyrenees named Vick. In the 2009 Disney movie Santa Buddies, a Great Pyrenees puppy named Puppy Paws is the leading character. In the Jim Carrey movie Dumb and Dumber a Great Pyrenees appears in the dog-mobile. In the manga/anime Fullmetal Alchemist the dog Alexander is a Great Pyrenees Webcomic artist Jeph Jacques owns a Great Pyrenees named Shelby, who has appeared in his webcomic Questionable Content on occasion. In the anime and manga Azumanga Daioh, Chiyo Mihama owns one of these dogs named Tadakichi-san (Mr Tadakichi in the English anime). Akamaru from Naruto appears to be based off of this breed What a great way to find notable dogs of this dog breed, loving japanese cartoons

وجميع هذه الوسائل تمثل معظم، إذا لم يكن كل، أنواع الخيال. wow it's even left justified

this is prolly the worst written article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Draper quote:While Draper was driving around his Volkswagen Microbus to test a pirate radio transmitter, he broadcast a telephone number to listeners as feedback to gauge his station's reception. A callback from a "Denny" (identified in the Discovery Channel documentary about Hacking as Denny Teresi[1]) resulted in a meeting with the blind kids and caused him to blunder into the world of the phone phreaks. They wanted him to build a multifrequency tone generator (the blue box) to gain easier entry into the AT&T system which was controlled by tones. Then they wouldn't have to use the organ and cassette recorder to get free calls. nothing in this part is linked except volkswagen, discovery channel and whistle and leaves no clue what the poo poo about the organ and 'blind kids.'

One lesser known aspect of the game deals with the numerous tree stumps found around the slopes of SkiFree. Users have found that when skied over backwards they transform into a small spotty mushroom. It has been theorised that this points to a philosophical leaning in the nature of SkiFree's creator Chris Pirih. The mushrooms may illustrate an extrapolation of Plato's theory of ideas in which the physical form of something may not reveal its true identity and only its representation in our particular plane of existence.

Trees Throughout the game there are trees that seem to grow feet. If you look close, you may see some of these trees. Burning Trees Environmentalist concerns were brought to the forefront when players realized they could set fire to the trees by jumping over them. It is unknown whether this was intended to cause an uproar or not.

Nikolai Fuckharin posted:I find it highly amusing that people can be deeply offended by this word. It's a word, its sole meaning is "a black person," yes I know its history, but how long are people going to cling to the argument of slavery. It wouldn't be so bad except our society places a single ridiculous word onto such high regard where it can be used as freely as saying "hi" by blacks yet it is the worst offense when used by others. Such hypocrisy and stupidity is what leads to slavery and here you ignorants cherish it like gold. so sayeth the athiest, scienceophile, open source advocate university student

How so? African American English replaces R with A, so nigga and friend of the family are really the same thing, there is no real distinction when used, if you say friend of the family an offended African-American might be outraged that you "Said nigga.". It's like on the Simpsons, somehow they can tell Itchy & Scratchy is a cartoon but the news guy isn't: They're both cartoons in our eyes. Gigith (talk) 19:41, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
