The original 1967 Star Trek Guide (April 17, 1967, p. 25) instructed writers for the original Star Trek TV series on how to select stardates for their scripts. Writers could pick any combination of four numbers plus a percentage point, and aim for consistency within a single script, but not necessarily between different scripts. This was to "avoid continually mentioning Star Trek's century" and avoid "arguments about whether this or that would have developed by then".

The number of jacks to be picked up is pre-ordained and sequential; at first one must be picked up ("onesies"), next two ("twosies"), and so on, depending on the total number of jacks included.

Trivia

In v1.3, Pam no longer follows you into the bus when purchasing a ticket to the desert. Instead, she stands in place until the bus cutscene triggers. This may have been done to prevent the rare "disappearing Pam" bug, in which Pam would disappear from the game and never return.
