Does anyone have a recommendation for a good documentary about raver culture, PLUR and all that?

Better living through circuitry might fit that definition.

And it's on YouTube right now, officially even:

I kinda doubt that ESPN would put that "IT'S FAIR USE PLEASE DON'T SUE US TO gently caress!" text in ther video descriptions. Also that channel's Facebook page goes to ESPN flims.

I just checked out Nuts! and it's a pretty good one. The movie tells about J.R. Brinkley who got famous for doing goat gland implants to cure impotence but that's just the tip of the iceberg that this guy did. The ending is a doozy.

You can rent or buy it on Vimeo:

Tower is on Netflix (at least in Finland) and it's a stylish documentary about the Charles Whitman shooting. The documentary is done in a rotoscoped animation style.

I'm watching Do you really want to know? The basic gist of the doc is: you figure out that there's Huntington's disease in your family. The disease can be tested for. Do you want to know if you have it?

Netflix added the Strike a Pose doc that tells about the Madonna Blond Ambition tour dancers and what happened to them.

WELL FINALLY they're answering that age-old question.

I haven't seen the Truth or Dare documentary but apparently it was kinda huge at the time. The dancers got kinda famous from that. This goes through the aftermath when the tour ended.

The Last Laugh is available at Vimeo/iTunes/Amazon/etc. The doc is about jokes... about the holocaust. Holocaust survivors talk about how humour helped them survive and comedians talk about why they should be able to joke about it.

There's a really good minidocuseries released now on Netflix called: Don't gently caress with cats: Hunting an internet killer. It has a lot of twists and turns so I don't want to spoil anything if you don't know the case.

Basically a dude posts a terrible video on the internet and people try to find out who he is. Then the videos get crazier.

Is there a dedicated “Get Back” thread somewhere where I can gripe about the lovely blurry digital upscaling job? I’ve seen better upscaling on videos from the 1800s than what Peter Jackson apparently has access to.

I thought they would have gotten better results from that footage than what they did with that WWI doc, which also looked terrible. The motion interpolation looks like poo poo and apparently they have added so much grain removal that everyone looks like puppets. It's really weird to me that old footage can't be just restored, but it has to be recolored/smoothed/interpolated to poo poo.
