I watched nearly all of Monster Camp last night. It was okay but didn't really catch me. The fat plot guy talking about getting his daughter into WOW instead of actually spending time with her was pretty heavy.

I also watched some RSA animate which are simply awesome. Everyone should watch them.

I just watched the Paradise Lost docos from the recommendations above.

Wow it is a strange country that you live in where a guy like John Mark Byres can run his mouth all over town and three kids are locked up for dressing different.

After looking at the wiki afterwards it looks as though they aren't getting out either.

I'm watching Battle for Marjah at the moment and I'm having a hard time. It's pretty graphic but apart from that it shows Marines treating their 'fellow' Afghan soldiers like poo poo. They are made to take point and enter all buildings first when they aren't being yelled at.

On the plus side is great cinematography and it's refreshing to see footage you don't usually see in most war documentaries.

Has anyone else seen it? What are your thoughts?

Not sure if it's already been posted, but Dream Deceivers has stuck with me since I caught it on PBS as a fluke back in the early 90s.

It's a very deep and at times uncomfortable look into the Judas Priest court case when they were charged over subliminal messages allegedly being the cause between Belknap and Vance's suicide pact. It covers everything around the case in far more depth than what the media at the time blithered.

The documentary does feature interviews with the disfigured Vance which might be hard for some to watch.

From what I know the documentary's not been released for sale and was only shown the one time on PBS. It is possible to buy a studio copy from the producers to the tune of a few hundred dollars. It was on googlevideo for a while but looks like it's been pulled. I did find it in 6 parts on youtube. Quality's iffy in parts.

This whole thing just stinks of greed and diverting blame.

It's hard to understand a parent that would try and sue a rock band because they didn't raise their child very well. Both children were from broken homes. The farther of James Vance talks of having an alcohol problem and how he proudly punched his son three times when he caught him smoking weed.

But yeah, it's the band's fault. :ughh:

This was really good. Quite moving. Surprised me that they pick up everyone and anyone. Just a shame it was so short.

Does anyone have any other good documentaries about military medics? It's always been something that I have found quite interesting.

This isn't actually out yet but it looks like it will be really good and should raise awareness of a big problem that many people don't know about. I recently watched a documentary by Vice TV that was linked several pages back in this thread about this 'floating rubbish dump'.

Trailer here, note some semi-disturbing scenes for animal lovers.
