I watched Star vs. the Forces of Evil. It's not groundbreaking by any means but it's fun and I like the theme song.

Having now seen the shorts they've put out for the PPG reboot, I can say I'm fairly excited for it. The animation feels like it needs refining but the humor seems pretty on-target.

I want to talk about Star Vs mostly, because I think it's a fun show. It feels kind of aimless sometimes but I like the little group that's forming with Janna and Jackie hanging around Star and Marco more. And I also think it's cool when it digs into Star's royal heritage and such (the end of "Into the Wand" was really interesting to me).

Watching some Loud House and it's definitely not pushing the boundary past "competent and nice-looking kids' cartoon". Funny here and there, character work isn't very deep beyond characters having their gimmicks (I appreciate how hard they stick to "the dumb one is very dumb). That being said I think it makes it all the better that this is the show to put a LGBT main character in, because it can't be all mega-popular gay space alien shows to get that acclaim. The middle of the road stuff needs it too.
