This was great, thanks. Definitely a refreshing change from what I'm used to.

I have another OPS mix ready to record but it's not D&B so I might post it right away and do another one for... whenever I'm up next, I forgot the schedule.

That said, is 'Dubstep' a bad word now? Usually I put the genre in the mix title, and this one is entirely weird halftime 140, but for some reason I'm reluctant to use the D-word.

Thanks for listening Rageaholic & Mister Speaker. I don't know if there's any set schedule anymore :justpost: on fridays! If it's aggro/excision type dubstep then I would use that word, if it's weirder experimental stuff I'd use "140"

'Dubstep' is kind of a bad word in 2022 so it weighed on me heavily whether I should tag this one as simply "140 mix," but I figured that would be disingenuous; it is through-and-through a Dubstep Mix. It's D&B-adjacent so have at it:

Not even close to the sounds I play but I'm loving this set. It feels oldschool & authentic; like good control over the energy/flow/selection, a proper warm-up set before every DJ just went all bangers all the time

Yeah that was super weird. Listened a couple times and I still can't really form a description of it. I can say i'm a little averted to it because I can't get into the songs groove; either the mixing is too quick or a lack of organicness (whatever that means, soulfulness maybe?). On the other hand experimental stuff like this is how genres are pushed, evolve and grow so it's fine, I'm not hating on it, the DJ dude and producers are skilled no doubt.

Well it's the first Friday of the month. I didn't realize it until like yesterday while I was working on this mix, but once I did, that pressure brought things together nicely. This one starts with some Dubstep, gets a bit silly with the Trap stuff, and kicks into some two-step Neurofunk with a little cooldown surprise at the end. Enjoy!

I actually recorded some sets this week, here's the first one....

Liquid, a few new tunes, not perfect but I never plan anything / can literally see me adjusting grids and laying cues. Second mix that I'll post later is more on the atmospheric / spacey side.
