Can anyone recommend some good mixes? I'm specifically looking for darker dirtier style stuff. I usually listen to dubstep, but I've always been a little interested in DnB, just never knew where to start.
Thirding the Dieselboy suggestion, also check out the Therapy Sessions mixes, any recorded Renegade Hardware sets you can find, and the Lifted Music podcasts.

edit: forgot about the Barcode Filthcasts and Dylan and Robyn Chaos' Freakshow podcasts which are also worth listening to if you like the really heavy side of drum and bass.

Yhhhhhhh boi! Going to this madness t'night!!!
I went to this. Calyx & Teebee, Klute and Soul Intent all smashed it, Zinc and Calibre were alright too. Sucked that Black Sun Empire didn't make it though. Shame about the two venue setup and the enormous queue to get in, meant I was never going to try to see any of the Hospital lot just in case I never actually got back in again.

So Black Sun Empires new album, Lights and Wires, was released earlier this week.
Yeah, this is a good album. Also loving the vinyl sampler with BSE & D.Kay - Bullet in the Head (Gridlok remix), awesome remix of a great tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0j6YzEAVc7A

Evol Intent
The problem with picking Evol Intent is that none of their tunes are bad. You could have easily put any of Flipside, Middle of the Night, 8 Bit Bitch, Midnight Express or Filth Bath in this list, but then you'd have to miss out something else equally awesome.

Honestly, any Dillinja tune is going to do it,
Even "Fast Car"? :v:

Monden - Requiem for a Dream - If someone can find a better DnB remix of a classical....let me know.
Personally I think Unknown Error - Shadows (Unicron remix) is better - Unicron is better known as Spor:

Maybe this technically counts as breakcore instead, but gently caress it I love it:

Don't people get bored of jump up MC conventions? Remarc, Congo Natty, Nicky Blackmarket and maybe a few others are worth seeing but the rest all sound so samey to me. I much prefer things like the Eclectricity events in Brum, or Detonate in Notts:

BBC Radio 1 broadcast an hour long documentary on the history of the Amen break on Monday night, which was pretty interesting:

The Sect is without a doubt my new favourite drum 'n bass DJ. Anyone else got some suggestions for some other technoid dnb like his?
Raiden, Audio, SPL, Proket, Gancher & Ruin, and some but not all of Cooh, Limewax, Dylan, Donny, Lucio de Rimanez, maybe even Current Value.
