I used to play on a pirate in Wolverhampton (UK) for about a year back in 2000/01 as well as playing a few minor Midlands clubs over the years.

I stopped playing d&b a few years ago now and a lot of the modern stuff bores me but I've been an active junglist since the early nineties and still have a couple thousand records laying around.

I'll resist the urge to hate on Pendulum though and post some classics instead.

First three are all aliases surprisingly enough.

I'm sort of new to drum n bass and really prefer the laid back, atmospheric stuff more. Tracks like this:

Seba - Planetary Funk Alert (absolutely awesome):

Big Bud - Soul Food:

Flytronix - Rhode Tune:

Anyone got any suggestions? I've already binged through LTJ Bukem's stuff.

On a side note to this, Jojo Mayer is the poo poo:

Check out Calibre & Marcus Intalex, two of my favourite artists in a similar vein.

The Chemical Records link up there ^^^ is a good place to check out clips.

Calibre also recently released a downtempo album under his real name (Dominick Martin) and sings on it too. Admittedly his vocals are about on par with Pendulums but the music is lush.

Here's a sample...
