Has it been noted that ESPN have been floating $4million a year to keep Skip Bayless around? I can't find a solid link to it, but I've seen Richard Deitsch mention it a few times since before Christmas

Personally, I don't want to live in a world where a TV network with a reach of 90 million viewers will pay someone who says that a high profile basketball player's rape trial gives him "sizzle" $4million a year. And that's before the unending shitshow that was the unending Tim Tebow fellatio

Well they're paying Stephen A Smith $3million a year so think about this: the hosts of First Take are earning a combined $7million a year

So I've been seduced by the myth that is "First Take" and being that I'm in the US for a week I thought I'd check it out and its not on main ESPN? Also, I saw Stephen A Smith on the post game after game 2 of the NBA Finals and ESPN are actually paying good money for a man to have a toddler tantrum on live TV?

The first words Jemele Hill uttered were "now that's a hot take" and that was about as bad as it got. First Take also wasn't that bad but Smith seems to have some sort of automatic activated volume increasing switch. Skip didn't say anything terrible but boy his fake street poo poo got old fast

Yeah, I watched HQ yesterday and basically giggled the whole way through. Bomani plays the straight man role so well, but at the end of the wrestling segment Dan asked if anyone had checked if the two wrestlers are still alive and Bomani's look just slayed me completely

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino always used to speak through an interpreter when he was Southampton manager. He knew English, but it wasn't strong enough to completely articulate what he meant but know he knows enough to ditch the translator

So I also saw Screaming A Smith's hot taek about Tebow playing baseball and I found it... actually amusing. But I then felt bad because the reason I found it amusing was because Screaming A Smith sounded like he was having a stroke or a seisure or in some sort of worst case scenario masturbating furiously in attempting to deliver the hot taek

Giants vs Pats 1 was good because it's the first and only Superbowl where one side had odds where you could actually make decent bank if they won, and the Giants were 9/2 when I laid £20 on them. Most of the time the odds of an outright winner are so close it's not even remotely worth it

I've been a juror on a court case involving sexual assault on a child, and hearing the victims statement read out by the prosecution lawyer was one of the most awful, emotional things I've ever experienced and I don't wish to experience it again. I genuinely feel for everyone except the scumbag who did this, because listening to each victim is going to be so draining for everyone

El Gallinero Gros posted:I used to be a social worker, and some of the stories they told us as a way of mentally prepping us for the realities of the field were horrifying. The police officer and social worker who were assigned the case were actually in tears when it was read out & I was just about holding it together. Without going too much into the details, all of us on the jury actually asked and were allowed to exit the court through the backdoor as the defendant's family were waiting outside, then we all went down the pub. We barely spoke, but the only thing we could agree on was that the sentence was almost painfully low for the crime, and that with hindsight we should have convicted him on all three counts and not just one. But still, hearing what I did over those four days was more than enough
