So SBNation is making a big push for its bloggers to post video content. They launched Youtube channels for almost every individual blog. The results? Well, see for yourself.

ESPN, for whatever reason, is ranking the best 500 players in baseball. Here's the bottom 100. This will end well.

Here's part 2 of the 500 list. I love that Hong-Chih Kuo, the guy that just got released after putting up an ERA of like 40, is the 367th best player in baseball.

MourningView posted:I like Shutdown Fullback now that Spencer has gotten used to being on camera, but it is pretty slim pickings beyond that. Yeah, that show is great. They had an uphill battle launching a new show during the driest period in college football, but they made it work. The Clemson video had me in stitches. Ufford and Rubenstein are pretty good too, but I think they're limited by the short 4-minute format. If they did a weekly 30-minute Floor episode, they'd have much more time to bounce off each other, which is their biggest strength. It could be like PTI or ATH if the hosts actually liked each other. But I think SBN is demanding daily, constant content, so we get these watered-down segments instead. Also, Amy pulls great interviews. The channel has more potential than I thought, but they still need to iron out the rough edges.

I'd be interested to see how much cable subscriptions spiked when ESPN got the MNF contract. That's a loving American institution, and I guarantee enough people got pissed at ABC losing it that they got cable just to watch it. Admittedly, it may be a wash since NBC got SNF to fill the OTA primetime void. Benne fucked around with this message at 07:23 on May 3, 2012 |

So Jeff Sullivan left Baseball Nation to become the 483rd writer on Fangraphs. This increases the number of good and/or interesting FG writers to...1? Maybe 2, if you're the type that hate-read's Cameron's stuff. Meanwhile, Al Yellon still has a job for some reason.
