I think a section needs to be added to the op listing all of the most ridiculous things in the EU that are always brought up that are, in fact, infinities.

Start with the Darth Maul reborn comic and work from there.

The guys developing the KOTOR MMO have pretty much left the events of KOTOR 2 out in the cold.

Which an insult to Obsidian as they paid respect to what Bioware did and generiously improved some of their stuff (Mandalore Ordo is awesome) instead of treading on it.

That's not true, the MMO is basing its entire plot around the events in KoTOR 2. The entire "True Sith" empire brought up in KoTOR 2 is the enemy in the MMO.

I've been ignoring the MMO more the most part, but the "True Sith" in the one trailer I saw looked like garden-variety Sith.

Exactly that is the whole point. By "True-sith" they mean the original Sith species and dark jedi who fought with Naga Sadow in the Great Hyperspace War. When they lost the remnants fled into the unknown regions to rebuild. Between then and now all the "Sith" that came up like Exar Kun and Revan were just basing their teachings on the Sith way and were not actually bred Sith. These guys are.

No, can't say I have. TP was great and WW is a constant fan favorite (except the triforce hunting). Just ask in the Zelda thread. But I guess we are the ones who are wrong and we should stop having fun. Anyway, I'm just saying that there are a lot of reasons to think that KoTOR is a fantastic game and few to think it is objectionably horrible like you do.

SOE's lowest hour (at least prior to the NGE) was when they closed one of their servers due to constant player protests. The time where the put hundreds of players into space was during one of them. What happened was that someone in the game figured out a way to dupe the in game currency in the trillions. SOE, in their brilliant wisdom decided to ban EVERYONE who had any of the duped credits. However, since there was absolutely no way for someone in game to know whether the credits were genuine they were spread all over the server as people continued to buy things and give money to other people. You could even give someone money without their consent using the /tip command and there was not a drat thing they could do about it. Everyone who had the duped credits was banned.

Lots of Thrawn stuff. And probably more reasonable extrapolations from the OT than what Lucas gave us, like Anakin would be a decorated adult war hero before training under Obi-Wan (not a problem before Lucas decreed that all Jedi needed to start training as babbies), Leia and Luke's mother wouldn't be a lame democratically elected queen and would survive long enough for Leia to credibly remember her, Yoda wouldn't use a lightsaber, Palpatine wouldn't necessarily be called a Sith, Tatooine would be Obi-Wan's home planet instead of Anakin's, and Owen would still be Obi-Wan's brother, no bullshit about Jedi not having families, Victory class Star Destroyers, Bail Organa would be a kick-rear end general before retiring to politics, we'd loving see poo poo go down on Alderaan, the Clone Wars would probably have both sides with Clones and Palpatine would only be pulling all the strings on the Republic end. And if Zahn wrote it we'd probably have some bullshit about Mara Jade's Jedi parents and Talon Karrde starting out as a small-timer.

That would have been SOOOOO loving sweet :smith:

I remember one game I played where, as the Rebels, I completely took over huge swaths of the Galaxy with extremely minimal resistance in space. I had huge gently caress off fleets of Mon Cal Cruisers and Star Destroyers (I forget how) and nothing could stand in my way. I always wondered what the gently caress the Imperials were doing since I NEVER saw any capital ships anywhere. Well, my question was answered when the Imperials were down to their last two planets, Courscant and Borleias, where I saw that they had about 300 Acclamator class starships split between the two planets.

I just quit the game because I didn't want to deal with that bullshit.
