It sounds like this is not an entry level position, as entry level applicants won't have a salary history and likely won't have any clue about what sort of salary to expect. Assuming that's true, it is a way to avoid wasting people's time. Last year I was interviewing for a position that had certain expectations about experience level -- someone came in to interview that was over-qualified and was coy about salary requirements (he had them, but didn't want to say). When we got to the end of process and wanted to put an offer together, he revealed that we were $30k too low. Sorry, ain't gonna happen.... A hard requirement for the candidate to state his salary requirements avoids this sort of situation.

My thoughts were more either using them for cheap shed windows, or making them into craft projects - picture frames, chalkboards, etc. I'm pretty sure lead paint isn't a factor, but the windows were put in around the 50s so who knows. Throw them away, you will never find a use for them, and 3 years from now when you stumble upon them again, you will wonder how the hell to get rid of them. Take the opportunity to get rid of them now.

They will also have earpieces which the director can use to talk to them to let them know what is going on.

When the hell did insurance advertising become so pervasive, and why the hell is the format super bad humor? The trend of ubiquitous advertising of insurance (in particular auto insurance) was started by GEICO and the advertising agency that they've used for years. I imagine other insurance companies have seen customers been sucked away by GEICO since the mid-90's and are copying their playbook in an attempt to retain customers or gain them back.

alnilam posted:That's true but I think they were asking about the keys, not just the chords. The key of C vs Am do contain the same notes, not just the chords C and Am. The other part of this is the pattern of tones and semi-tones that define what a major scale is and what a minor scale is. Even though Cmajor and Aminor both have the same notes, when you run a scale, the tone and semi-tone patterns are different (because one is major and one is minor), and they are different because while, for example, there is a whole tone difference between A and B, there is only a half-tone difference between B and C (and E and F). A musical journey from root note back to root note will feature different tone/semi-tone jumps as you go from note to note in major versus minor, and I like to think this is what gives a different feel to the different keys (or modes or whatever you're supposed to call them).

People will say whatever they think they can get away with that will help them accomplish their goals. In this case the goal is "don't get the vaccine". It doesn't remotely matter if the excuse is consistent or indeed even remotely plausible, what matters is that there's an excuse. If their chosen excuse gets debunked so thoroughly that they can no longer use it without getting mocked by everyone, then they'll find a new excuse. If you're waiting for them to admit they were wrong and change their behavior, I hope you're prepared to wait a long time. Another corollary goal with these sorts of statements is attracting attention, even if it is negative.

I usually go through Shutterfly for stuff like this, but was hoping for some better quality images since it's going to be fairly large. Services like Nations Photo Lab (https://www.nationsphotolab.com) or Bay Photo (https://www.bayphoto.com) can handle prints like this. I'm sure there are many others. If you know how to take a RAW image and make it print-ready, you're good to go. Otherwise, if your photographer is a pro or otherwise knowledgeable about prints, maybe ask the photographer to do this for an agreed-upon fee?

This site: https://www.premierelectronics.com/blog/barcode-types-identificaton-understanding calls it a data matrix. The codes on the two labels look different, so I would guess that they are used for inventory management of some sort during the manufacturing process, and not for public consumption. There might be some sort of process where the same line packages the same stuff for multiple countries, and so the labeling machine is programmed with the inventory code for EU/Spain labeling, and then double-checks that the labels it is pulling off of a stack actually have the correct code for EU/Spain top labels for "Listerine Flavor-Fiesta Blast" mouthwash, so they don't have to scrap a whole production run because somebody accidentally loaded the machine with labels for Korea. Hotel Kpro posted:This feels like such a dumb question but do people normally stand when they put their socks on? My mom who's over 60 mentioned she still stands and puts her socks on and seemed disappointed to think that one day she would have to sit while putting them on. Meanwhile I could hardly remember one such instance myself, I'm always sitting down on the bed or the stairs to put on socks I'm not 60 or over 60 (yet), but one thing that happens as you get into your 50's, say, is that stuff that used to be easy and requiring no special effort starts to get tougher, with joints getting stiffer, back tweaking out on you, and balance starting to be trickier. Without continual effort and exercise, these things don't get better, so good on your Mom for having enough fine muscle control, strength, and balance to put her socks on standing up. You might not be able to when you get to be her age, especially if you're not doing it now.

Goon Boots posted:Since photography is such a public facing business, your reviews will be very important, whether they are on Yelp or Google Reviews or whatever. The typical consumer isn't going spend a ton of time examining every option available to them; they'll just see what the top 10 photo places are and choose whichever of them looks the best or has the best pricing. This might not be as important if you decide to do this only part time on the weekends in addition to your day job. You'll need to establish reviews as well, which I can't say I have good advice on. My thought is that NGOs and charities are always to looking to bump up their publicity, so offering them a photoshoot, perhaps for a nominal fee or even free, can be mutually beneficial. I've done photography as a hobby for a long time, and as long as I've done it, there have been people talking about how they're thinking of how they can make money with it, I think as a way to justify purchases. Or they think that a more acceptable answer to the question "Why do you take pictures?" is "Because it makes me money" rather than "Because I enjoy it." A photography business is a business, and without a good or service that people value, your business will not succeed. You start a business because you see an unfilled need and move to fill that need. Asking "How can I make money doing X?" is a bit backwards, in my opinion. Most people don't value photographs enough to see them as something to pay someone a living wage for, and this was true 20 years ago before the ubiquity of digital cameras. For the original question, Model Mayhem is another place to look for photographers in your area, some of whom might know hair and makeup people.

Anyway was cruising along nicely, until it got to the page 27 (the one after I tried to put a line in), and it's back to the black helevetica size 12 thing. Then I tried airdropping it (the version that had saved before the weirdness started) to a different computer, exact same loving problem. When I click on the existing red/times new roman text, it somehow thinks it's black/helevetica, but only after page 27. But when I go add a new text box, it does start in red/TNR. Motherfucker. There are also two issues here: "Is it ethical to do this?" and "Will someone allow me to do this if I ask (nicely and with a lot of scientific justification, ideally)?" There are probably a lot of people who want to dig up Nelson Mandela to study his teeth and have no ethical problem with it, but it doesn't happen because people in authority (gov't and family members) will not allow it. Cum Bouillabaisse posted:Most people don't think of daylight saving time as something with an actual practical effect either positive or negative, they think of it as an annoyance that makes them lose an hour of sleep and have to change their clocks around. Because of that they speak of it as a proper noun, rather than a descriptive title, leading to a grammatically incorrect way of phrasing it. More to the point, I don't think people currently see the word "saving" as meaning the opposite of the word "wasting", so "saving" just becomes a meaningless part of the phrase (as you suggest) and adding the "s" sound makes the phrase easier to say. Once you fix this mistake OP, you can work on people mixing up "tax return" and "tax refund".
