So is this basically their way of saying gently caress off to entry level applicants?

It sounds like this is not an entry level position, as entry level applicants won't have a salary history and likely won't have any clue about what sort of salary to expect.

Assuming that's true, it is a way to avoid wasting people's time. Last year I was interviewing for a position that had certain expectations about experience level -- someone came in to interview that was over-qualified and was coy about salary requirements (he had them, but didn't want to say). When we got to the end of process and wanted to put an offer together, he revealed that we were $30k too low. Sorry, ain't gonna happen.... A hard requirement for the candidate to state his salary requirements avoids this sort of situation.

I've tried googling for "types of lampshades", but it only comes up with lampshades that snap onto the bulb or lampshades that screw into under the bulb. Nothing that looks like it ought to work with this giant built in rim around the bulb area.

I would say this kind: http://www.bplampsupply.com/category/347_student-style-glass-lamp-shades

This sort of lamp is mimicking a gas lamp, so the shade would be glass instead of fabric, and it would be open at the top to let the rising hot air escape.

What the hell, I have the attic space so I guess I'm just going to keep them for future craft projects, I already own them so why not. Either I do something with them in the future, try to sell them or find a ReStore. I guess I'll have to wait and see how many intact ones the installers leave me.

Throw them away, you will never find a use for them, and 3 years from now when you stumble upon them again, you will wonder how the hell to get rid of them. Take the opportunity to get rid of them now.

That's true but I think they were asking about the keys, not just the chords. The key of C vs Am do contain the same notes, not just the chords C and Am.

If you're talking about like, a melody all by itself, no chords? The tone of the melody will be set by its, forgive me if this isn't the right music theory term, its root note. Your melody might likely start on a C, and resolve on a C, and it will sound happy. Or your melody starts on an A, and resolves on an A, and it sounds sad. The simplest example of such a melody is literally just playing the scale. C starts at C. Am starts at A. C sounds happy, Am sounds sad, even though they are both made up of the same notes, because the starting point sets the tone differently.

Now add chords into the mix. Not only are the keys the same, the chords are the same too! But, the first chord in the key of C is C. The first chord in the key of Am is Am. Any chord progression is likely to focus around a C chord for C, or an Am chord for Am. It will probably begin with that chord, it will probably resolve on that chord too, there will probably be different chords in between, and that will set the tone as being minor or major - even though both keys contain the same set of chords: C, Dm, Em, F, G, Am, Bdim.

The other part of this is the pattern of tones and semi-tones that define what a major scale is and what a minor scale is. Even though Cmajor and Aminor both have the same notes, when you run a scale, the tone and semi-tone patterns are different (because one is major and one is minor), and they are different because while, for example, there is a whole tone difference between A and B, there is only a half-tone difference between B and C (and E and F). A musical journey from root note back to root note will feature different tone/semi-tone jumps as you go from note to note in major versus minor, and I like to think this is what gives a different feel to the different keys (or modes or whatever you're supposed to call them).

As Platystemon points out, there's no consistent logical process at play here. People will say whatever they think they can get away with that will help them accomplish their goals. In this case the goal is "don't get the vaccine". It doesn't remotely matter if the excuse is consistent or indeed even remotely plausible, what matters is that there's an excuse. If their chosen excuse gets debunked so thoroughly that they can no longer use it without getting mocked by everyone, then they'll find a new excuse. If you're waiting for them to admit they were wrong and change their behavior, I hope you're prepared to wait a long time.

Another corollary goal with these sorts of statements is attracting attention, even if it is negative.

What do you think the little QR codes on each sticker are for?

They are not QR codes, but are two-dimensional bar codes of some sort. This site: https://www.premierelectronics.com/blog/barcode-types-identificaton-understanding calls it a data matrix. The codes on the two labels look different, so I would guess that they are used for inventory management of some sort during the manufacturing process, and not for public consumption. There might be some sort of process where the same line packages the same stuff for multiple countries, and so the labeling machine is programmed with the inventory code for EU/Spain labeling, and then double-checks that the labels it is pulling off of a stack actually have the correct code for EU/Spain top labels for "Listerine Flavor-Fiesta Blast" mouthwash, so they don't have to scrap a whole production run because somebody accidentally loaded the machine with labels for Korea.

I'm not 60 or over 60 (yet), but one thing that happens as you get into your 50's, say, is that stuff that used to be easy and requiring no special effort starts to get tougher, with joints getting stiffer, back tweaking out on you, and balance starting to be trickier. Without continual effort and exercise, these things don't get better, so good on your Mom for having enough fine muscle control, strength, and balance to put her socks on standing up. You might not be able to when you get to be her age, especially if you're not doing it now.

Since photography is such a public facing business, your reviews will be very important, whether they are on Yelp or Google Reviews or whatever. The typical consumer isn't going spend a ton of time examining every option available to them; they'll just see what the top 10 photo places are and choose whichever of them looks the best or has the best pricing. This might not be as important if you decide to do this only part time on the weekends in addition to your day job. You'll need to establish reviews as well, which I can't say I have good advice on. My thought is that NGOs and charities are always to looking to bump up their publicity, so offering them a photoshoot, perhaps for a nominal fee or even free, can be mutually beneficial.

I've done photography as a hobby for a long time, and as long as I've done it, there have been people talking about how they're thinking of how they can make money with it, I think as a way to justify purchases. Or they think that a more acceptable answer to the question "Why do you take pictures?" is "Because it makes me money" rather than "Because I enjoy it." A photography business is a business, and without a good or service that people value, your business will not succeed. You start a business because you see an unfilled need and move to fill that need. Asking "How can I make money doing X?" is a bit backwards, in my opinion. Most people don't value photographs enough to see them as something to pay someone a living wage for, and this was true 20 years ago before the ubiquity of digital cameras.

For the original question, Model Mayhem is another place to look for photographers in your area, some of whom might know hair and makeup people.

There are probably a lot of people who want to dig up Nelson Mandela to study his teeth and have no ethical problem with it, but it doesn't happen because people in authority (gov't and family members) will not allow it.

More to the point, I don't think people currently see the word "saving" as meaning the opposite of the word "wasting", so "saving" just becomes a meaningless part of the phrase (as you suggest) and adding the "s" sound makes the phrase easier to say.

Once you fix this mistake OP, you can work on people mixing up "tax return" and "tax refund".
