So I've been spending some time today cleaning plastic parts that came with a horrible chemical smell. I had quite a bit of luck with a vinegar bath... but it turns out the plastic is hollow (to my surprise), and now several of the pieces have vinegar in them from screw holes or other perforations. The problem is that it won't come back out those same holes and won't drain. I can't just leave it in the parts, because they're the frame of a carrying case for miniatures that will get damaged by vinegar getting on them (setting aside any risk of damage to the actual plastic), and I don't want to smell like vinegar forever every time I go to the shop, just like I'd rather not smell like a chemical refinery. I'm also a bit concerned the vinegar could cause problems with the screw threading, and hoping I don't catastrophically find out one day.

What's the easiest way for me to get any liquid that's inside the hollow plastic bits, out of them? I'm pretty sure it'll crack if I drill it, and I don't want to risk the integrity of the frame, but that's about the only way I can think of to get a drain hole. Evaporating it would probably work, but leaving it out in the sun sounds bad for the plastic. What am I not thinking of?

How would greater/lesser gravity affect bleeding out? If someone on the ISS got a nosebleed or cut themselves on something would it be catastrophic or NBD or would the blood flow same as in 1G? What about in high G situations?

Yeah refitting drain pipes are one of the biggest maintenance expenses for apartment buildings.

Whatever you do to make the grease flow is just going to move the problem further down. Like the multi-ton fatbergs they found in the London sewers. Although they were made worse by people throwing all sorts of other stuff down the drains that they shouldn’t have
