The show is pretty great too, from what I've seen so far. Sadly it looks like only 12-ish eps ever got subbed or dubbed and the YouTube account I found with the raws only has up to 29 (of 50)

Trying to remember the name of one I saw quite a while back.

Weird schoolgirl does like a suicide explosion on a bus, (I remember a vial being injected into her arm?). The MC who is also on the bus survives but gains some kind of weird power where he turns into a white life form. I vaguely recall airships and him being kidnapped for his own good. At the end, he turns to stone. I remember it being fairly average, but I cannot remember the name for the life of me.

What's the one where the MC is the daughter of the villain from an old kid's show and she's trying to break into the city but keeps getting beat up by the heroes who have set up a totalitarian government?

Thaaats the one. I thought it started off with a great premise but then failed to really go anywhere for a while so I dropped it. Was wondering if it ever got better. Guess not. It was cute, though.

I was having a discussion with a friend about portrayals of gay people in anime, and we started talking about how they've been portrayed over the last few decades compared to now. One thing in particular that popped into my head was a scene that has shown up in compilations of "absurd engrish in anime" or whatever before, of this big purple muscular alien/demon dude in nothing but a thong being the most flamboyantly gay guy in the world and fighting some...I want to say Excel Saga-looking anime girls, and maybe talking in ridiculous engrish? And doing michael jackson or synchronized dance moves or something? I think he had like, pink heart pasties over his nipples, even. It wasn't an actual porn, but just an example of ridiculous portrayal of a gay character in an old anime, but I can't find the clip for the life of me. Anyone know of it, I want to link it to him.

A bisexual, purple, masochistic, muscleman angel who enters the episode to music which is blatantly ripped-off from Queen's Flash Gordon theme has to be Hapxier/Hapsiel from Macademi Wasshoi Episode 5.

Bonus: Hiyama Nobuyuki chews scenery and gets kissed to death.

Probably the best episode of the series just for the non-stop gag and reference-fest.

Sadly, Macademi Wasshoi overall just wasn't very good. It had a lot of funny ideas but just somehow never really pulled it all together and never executed comedic timing and delivery properly.

(And the dangling hearts are over Hapxier's ... umm ... enormous package)

That's the one! Not purple it seems, but...certainly fabulous. Funny enough you mention the flash gordon thing, as the youtube video of the scene I was talking about has had the audio deleted due to copyright claim, likely by Queen's rightsholders :v:

Actually looking for a manga and not an anime. It was several years back I saw it.

I recall it was a superhero manga, with minor superheroes being celebrities and oftentimes associating with businesses/restaurants/etc. There was a particular superhero who was exceedingly fat, his family owned a pizza place, and at one point he was stabbed in the gut and used his fat to trap the guy stabbing him. Anyone know what manga that was?

That's it, thanks! Time to binge on it.

E: I'd forgotten how much I enjoy it, mainly the humor that all the Jackies introduce. It's a shame it never got picked up for an anime, I feel like most of the Jackies would have made it comedy gold since they're primarily physical humor.

Watch the anime(it came first), it's real good, plus has an incredible soundtrack and animation.

Edit: wait, is it? I swear that's anemone, but she looks a bit off. Could be the artistic styling though.

I've seen One Outs, don't think its that. I remember reading a description of it, the entire episode is just different angles/shots of the one throw and it ends on the batter hitting the ball, if I remember correctly.

So here's a difficult one. I saw it back sometime in the 90's, so this description might be somewhat lacking. It was long, at least an hour or more, so probably either a movie or OVA and not a show.

Set in a futuristic city. It was about a couple ladies, possibly (probably?) some kind of paranormal investigators or policement, possibly monster-hunters. I recall a shower scene (I was in my teens, of course that would stand out) and multiple instances where one of them was being attacked by the monsters and lifted by their arms. Lots of blood but I don't remember any gore, just tons of blood. At least one of the monsters had an extremely elongated head and mouth. I want to say they were being summoned but could be wrong. I cannot recall much more than that. It was on a late-night UHF channel, the quality was crap, but lately I keep thinking back wondering what it was.

Wikipedia says Mnemosyne was 2008 and I can say with 100% certainty that it was at least a decade before that. Silent Mobius matches the timeframe quite well.

The visual I recall most clearly is the monster lifting up a girl by her arm and blood literally gushing down her arm onto the ground, and also blood forming a shape of some sort (Like a pentagram or something). I was busy last night so I couldn't look into clips from Silent Mobius to see if that has the scene in question, but I plan to check it out over the weekend.

Huh, Silent Mobius has 2 movies and a tv series so it's possible that that is it, but good luck narrowing it down. :v:

Here's some stuff i found while looking it up (i got curious myself, and now i might want to watch it and i remember seeing it in trailers on 90's VHS tapes) No idea if they're from the series or films.

I'm not sure if it was even from Japan but when I was a kid I saw some cartoon on TV, main character was a pretty generic ninja warrior dude, there was some princess or girl who needed rescuing and the most memorable part was that the big bad guy was a witch lady or queen or something who became a skeleton towards the end and chased the heroes up a mountain before being defeated. That's as specific as I can get. I don't remember anything else, there must have been a story. This was no later than 1992 or something and I saw it on TV, so it was probably from the 70's or 80's.

Finally got a chance to look up the videos and it was DEFINITELY the first Silent Mobius movie. In that second image you linked there was a woman who cut her fingertip and I remember seeing blood literally GUSHING from the wound and thinking back then "That is ridiculous as hell". Shower scene, a weird bone-looking extending sword, the lady getting wrecked by the monster and when it bites and lifts her up gallons (seemingly) of blood pouring down, the lady drawing the pentagram on the roof, I remember it all now that I rewatched it.

Thanks for the help, Lurking and you guys. It'd been bugging me for ages that I didn't know what show that was.

I can't really give a lot of details, because I can't remember anything concrete but I remember watching something. The gist of it was some dude- I think he was a warrior or hero from another world and then he came through a portal?- and he ends up in this snobby magic school. Bad at magic, but he's absurdly strong. There's a bit with a giant magic ice pillar that he smashes by like, punching it or something? He may've bloodied his hand doing it too.

The only real thing I remember is that at some point close to the end he starts strapping all these magic bracelets onto his arm because he's poo poo at using magic and it turns this sword he uses into some ridiculous thing that looks like someone saw Cloud Strife's sword and said 'Nah, that's too reasonable.' So they made it four times as big.

This was a short anthology series, only a few episodes. It aired on The Anime Network, or at least was under that channel on Comcast On Demand in the early 2000s. It was about regular Japanese people doing mostly mundanely adventurous things and having silly things happen to them. The only recurring one I can remember is about a girl called Yamamoto. Every short with her started with a bunch of characters saying her name. Not much to go one -- anyone know what I'm talking about?

It's a long story
A manga about a middle aged construction worker who never really did anything with his life. It's kinda depressing at the start but he starts to turn things around by fighting various bullies he comes across. He went into a coma after a big fight but eventually waked up and starts living on the streets.
