Left-field choice, but extremely solid. I always like mainly-actors on the show, they're so easily overwhelmed. :v:

I think they definitely need Alan Davies in at some point. Adrian Edmondson might be good. And what's Phill Jupitus up to these days, anyway?

e: Bill Bailey keeps getting thrown around as an idea, and would work.

Anyone else never liked Phil Jupitus? He always had an off putting try-hard style on Buzzcocks and QI and I imagine it being even worse on taskmaster.

Engage with the newer Twitter comedians and get someone like Alastair Green / Sean Burke on.

Especially because he roasts dickheads like Phil Wang regularly.

From the last two main series, only Herring and Mack seem to be Avalon.

I liked him well enough, but I think having him, James and Rhod in the same series was slight overkill in terms of the delightful weirdo quota.

I mean this isn't true, considering the New Year Treat episode. Also only Lee Mack is represented by Avalon in the current series.

They should get Jack Whitehall on Taskmaster. And Robert Webb, Laurence Fox and that one tory-voting comedian the BBC keeps putting on the News Quiz for fear they'd otherwise be forced to sell Radio 4. poo poo, who else is there... Alan Titchmarsh?

I thought it was very funny though. The joke is in the repition and anticipation of a subversion that never comes. I liked Phil Wang a lot in that series.

I did watch This Morning With Richard Not Judy at a formative age though so repetitive comedy that passses through unfunny then uncomfortable back to funny is the height of comedy to me lol.

4 is very funny but the dom/sub relationship with Greg and Alex has already been established, Series 1 sets the tone of the show in THE VERY FIRST TASK.

Also it's hilarious seeing Romesh Ranganathan constantly pissed off in the studio segments.

A little surprising but C4 have axed THE CIRCLE. I guess they wanted a ratings juggernaut rather than something that just does fairly well.
