I caught about the last half of that.

Some of the stuff grated a bit though. Like i know nothing about the military and none of my family have served since WW2 but i am a Mechanical engineer.

When they were talking about the new helicopter which was chosen ahead of the black hawk, surely they have to move on and attempt to improve the design considering the black hawk was flew in the early 1970s.

The military in general seems far too top heavy though. I cant even begin to understand how 20,000 people are involved with sourcing equipment.

Also doesnt the navy have more admirals than battle ships?

The drugs and gigs references were pretty cringy. Not particularly funny. The gig in particular was a bit "american". As in far too enthusiastic for a pub gig.

Jay is head and shoulders the best character though.

Yeah i dont get the hate for Will for this episode in particular?

Will is basically a bit of an arse but he basically did the 'right' thing in this episode.

Simon on the other hand is an utter toolkit who has no redeeming features.

Jay is really the only thing thats funny about the show any more (other than Greg Davies but he gets about 2 lines per ep.)

You were a head of communications. You are now unemployed. Therefore, no longer a head of anything. QED.

I loving hate this. I was made redundant a month ago but I don't go around calling myself an 'unemployed production assistant'.

Shut up, im a currently unemployed astronaut.

From the first two episodes of masterchef it would seem spending a few weeks working in burger king qualifies you as a professional.

Not even some, but most of them seem totally clueless.

I was glued to the last series of masterchef australia, great tele.

Despite Jedward, Katie Brand has managed to be the worst feature of this Buzzcocks.

They are really annoying and hyper but Brand is totally unfunny, cynical and generally just an arsehole.

So are assetco's workers not scabs then? There's no excuse for crossing a picket line regardless of who employs you, the point is that you're reducing the bargaining power of the workers, not that you're defying the organisation doing the bargaining.

Could not agree more, youve hit the nail on the head. There is no excuse for crossing a picket line. End Of.

I watched that series about his teenage years and so now have much more resoect for the man in sticking by his principles.

Stick this poo poo on BBC Alba or whatever Highland Gaelic channel there is not the whole of Scotland.

No, they've basically copied the Australian format this year.

And based on watching that it gets really good now they've whittled it down to the finalists.

Well Tam Cowan did give an Italian restaurant in Alloa 23/25 in his restaurant review a couple of weeks ago, so... yey?

I lived in Alloa for most of my life, so going back there shouldn't be too much of a downer. Bar the lack of cable anywhere apparently.

Tam Cowan is an absolute mouth breather but the single most ridiculous thing about his restaurant reviews is that he gives equal weighting to the quality of food as he does to the state of the lavvies.

Oh, and no matter what restaurant he's in he only seems to eat fish and chips.

First it was that mastercheff style show based on people fighting it out to be a loving waiter, now it's a documentary on some kind of swanky restaraunt in the middle of a prison, staffed completely by prisoners.

Is this the BBC's attempt to portray "big society"?

FFS, did you actually watch this?

It was a work scheme in a prison attempting to help the prisoners gain some skills and actual qualifications to help them when they get out. Which they are doing.

The gently caress is the problem with that? Oh god forbid they have to work making food for some posh people clearly the are going to be much more employable be made to clean the loving toilets.

The guy running it seemed like a really good guy who actually gave a gently caress about what he was doing.

Has anyone been watching True Love on BBC One?

I caught a bit of the one featuring David Tennant when it was on telly and I've just watched the one featuring Billie Piper as the main character on iPlayer.

Billie's character (Holly) plays a teacher who falls in love with her student, played by Skin's actress Kaya Scoledario.

I watched it for obvious, pervy, reasons, but I was also curious to see how the story unfolded.

The 5 were only very tenuously (and unnecessarily) connected with characters from one episode making a token appearance in another episode.

I though it was pretty rubbish to be honest, 30 minutes is just to short for the sort of drama it was trying to be and there seemed to be very little chemistry between the 'love' characters in each episode. The last episode was marginally better.

Considering the quality of the cast the Beeb obviously cut their losses as well, airing the last 2 episodes back to back finishing at half 11 last night.

I suspect in most cases its entirely fair and the tradespeople are cowboys.

Equally though the programme can act as judge, jury and executioner. You could really do with both sides of the story some times.
