 Deer are assumed to be herbivores, but they're actually opportunistic carnivores and/or cannibals. A friend of mine works as a wildlife manager (I think) and from what she said, apparently deer are some of the first animals to show up to their bait, even when its deer meat!

You know, I kinda miss this style of movie/TV monster. I think of Jim Henson (though his weren't really that creepy), Joss Whedon, 80s horror, ect. Much more interesting than the CGI variety.
