I'm happy I managed to predict the whole "gleaming heart" thing - more or less, anyway. It's still a drat good piece of storytelling, though.

This isn't Hollywood, I doubt her first reaction after getting face-to-face with a homicidal ghost with a tragic backstory is going to be "let's make out".

Again, as with the little stick-like device, it's probably not even on her. The only thing she probably has access to right now is the blinker stone.

EDIT: We've seen her affect something in the physical world (a flower), you think maybe she could bring something to her with the blinker stone?

She's propelled a boat across a lake with her etheric body, I doubt grabbing her sword would be any more trouble.

However it does condense down to handy tooth-sized form, so she might have it on her.

This is the prettiest fuckin' comic sometimes, I swear.

Someone should crop the middle two panels here into a single image that we can use for whenever this kind of thing happens.

(I don't have an image editor that works at the moment.)

Just five pages later, yes, exactly that is stated outright.

And I gotta say, if people can miss stuff like that, I cannot begin to imagine how repetitive and inane the Formspring questions must get.

Also, am I the only one who read that it's the band that will snap off, not her hand? I thought it was to be an indicator that she'd gabbed, rather than a punishment.

"This bind will snip off your hand" is fairly unambiguous in terms of explaining body parts will be severed, without even getting into the capricious nature of trickster gods or the visual signifier of the design of it.

It's not just Gunnerkrigg, I've noticed a few other sites I go to regularly (including my own) are down. I think it's some kind of server fault or some bullshit I'm in no way qualified to even think about talking about.

It'll get back up eventually, probably.

In the German school of fencing, which is what Parley uses, there are a set of moves that are referred to as "hauen", or "hews". "Unsichtbarhau" is "unseen-hew", named for obvious reasons.
