How do you survive the precipice jump in Wandering Sword? Is it something like have over 3000 health and 50+ agility or something else?Booky posted:
Considering the number of unfinished indie games out there I'd say plenty are inspired by Xenogears, even if unintentionally. ![]()

Look, to be honest, I don't have infinite time and when this thread projectile vomits half a dozen good game suggestions at me, I simply don't have the time to deeply research all of them. When I see a plot summary on Wikipedia and it mischaracterizes the game, that sucks, but it's also not my problem. Also I already said I will try those games out at a later date. Complaining about me loving those games I know nothing about not fast enough is ludicrous. what

Maybe if you are talking about one, specific game maybe you should drop more than two words about it?

Just finished up The Lost Child. Post-game challenge dungeon is still there but nahhh, I'm good. Overall pretty alright as a budget dungeon crawler cribbing off of SMT, with some of its own takes on things. Most of the more involved systems (like skill trading and level resets for your mons) aren't particularly necessary unless you want to optimize your team for the post-game dungeon, though of course you can do those things and a bit of grind to help out. But hot drat the plot is a mess by the end. It's a spin-off of El Shaddai, which was itself a weird adaptation of the apocryphal Book of Enoch that is not officially included in the Bible. Where El Shaddai mostly stuck to Abrahamic stuff (except for some stuff about Ishtar on the side, which itself relates to more Biblical apocrypha via God's wife Asherah), TLC goes in on poaching from Lovecraft and ancient Egypt as well for its major players. Who the villain is swaps around a few times, God might be evil as per SMT tradition or maybe not (He gets blamed at one point for wanting a certain bad thing to happen to kickstart a new Deluge, but the people claiming that have some pretty skewed perspectives of their own), and the player character is very needlessly a silent protagonist as he is a distinct, named person in the plot. Motives change often, or at least get new "revelations" about how oh this thing was actually about that thing, etc, etc, right up through a post-credit scene where archangels Michael and Raphael reveal in discussion what you were really the Chosen One for, because you see... Seriously this story has no coherent throughline. At least Lucifel is still an enigmatic dick who is helpful but in a way that sometimes feels questionable. Once I get over the finished-game doldrums in a day or so, I plan on finally digging into SaGa: Scarlet Grace, though.

Gyoru posted:It's a precursor/prototype for The Alliance Alive, which sacrifices some of the SaGa story structure for something more linear. The formation system boiled down to 1 dedicated tank/interceptor while the other 2 are attacking or supporting. AA has a similar system, but it's more palatable since you have 5 active party members. I also kind of remember liking the in-combat elemental field balancing act you had to do? he has the happy innocence of a red-eyed tree frog....

The jump dealt 3000 damage at 53 agility for me, so unless there's some sliding scale where higher agility reduces the amount of damage you need to tank, 3000+ and 50+ seems as likely a criteria as any.

GG was kind of an overlooked gem, glad you enjoyed it

Please just chill out a little and enjoy playing Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth or something instead.

Alright cool. I'm not quite there yet but I'm going to head back once I am. It's a pity you only get stats from equipped cultivations but with how many exist in game I cane see how out of control character stats would get if they all counted.
