I've been going through the last dozen pages looking for opinions on Tales of Zestiria 'cos I'm bored and haven't played a Tales since Vesperia--thoughts, anyone?--and stumbled on

I haven't played a ton of Tales games, but Zestiria is hands down the worst. The story line feels half assed, with huge plot holes and continuity errors towards the end. It feels rushed, and large parts of the game have clearly been removed. The systems they establish early for how the world is supposed to work quickly just disappear, and the equipment system actually felt like it was punishing me for getting a new piece of gear.

I would suggest that you not waste your time with it.

A character in Xenoblade, who had literally shot a character I had to bring to the mission to get it to start in the back before and calls herself "Murderess", forcibly signed me and that character up for a mission, then to nobody's surprise turned on us, then we let her walk off and fought her flunkies, then the resolution of the mission was "Guess she got us good ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" and now I can now take her as a party member rather than "okay now it's time to send her to jail and/or the morgue".

Went to a used game/movie store today and picked up copies of Tales of Xillia, the Tales of Symphonia bundle, Resonance of Fate and Vanquish for 70 bucks total. I know another store that has Xillia 2 and a bunch of Atelier games, if I decide I want to use the rest of my birthday money on that, too.

If you like the characters in Xillia even a little bit, pick up Xillia 2. It's more of the same but does a lot more character development and has some great skits.

i don't really have a source, i was just talking about how few random encounters i run into playing skies of arcadia with someone and they mentioned that people toyed around with how movement affects the system and found that even just slightly wiggling the joystick made encounters happen more often than just running in a straight line did

I feel like this is the case in a lot of RPGs, and while it may just be nonsense superstition, I always assumed it had something to do with moving through multiple coordinates at once. Like, if you're moving in a straight line, you're only moving along one axis and your location is changing very linearly, while if you're moving in different directions, especially with analog control, you're cycling though a wildly different set of coordinates very quickly, and if encounters are based on a number of coordinates traversed you'd get in battles more often.

I'm about 8 hours into FF15 and I'm a little disappointed. So far it has just felt very bland, especially the systems that have been introduced. The skill system is basically nothing, and the ascension system is straightforward and unexciting. The weapon "mod" system just seems to be a set of weapons with fetch quests attached to them . The combat system has been passable, but has me constantly feeling like it just needs a little bit more. Its like they tried to make a DMC or Bayonetta combat system combined with like the witcher or something, but just didn't go far enough in either direction. Maybe some more stuff will open up, I don't know. Pretty down on it right now.

Just beat LoH: ToCS 1 and, uh, wow, I feel like they were doing their best to suppress the anime boiling in their blood the entire game and then in the last, like, 2 hours they couldn't stand it anymore and all the built up anime poured out all over everything and the game became a mess and hilarious and I regret nothing.
