I've been extremely impressed with both Pinball FX 2 and Williams Hall of Fame. Somehow none of my friends are pinball fans though. Looking for more people to add for Wizard Scores and leaderboard competition.

I just beat Merely Whelmed's Secrets of the Deep score by a measly 300 points to steal second place on my friend rankings and kind of feel bad about that. 60,370,300 vs 60,3700,000 - it just doesn't seem right.

I'll have to try to make it a more convincing win but my left trigger finger is starting to hurt.

Well you don't have to feel bad for very long. :smug:

I was actually shocked that that ended up being the 8th highest score in the game. It's certainly the highest I've ever been on any Live leaderboard.

EDIT: I'm gunning for you Parallax Scroll!

Your score for the tournament is even added to your superscore regardless of whatever score you already have for the table. A nice way to get a few dozen more points for the superscore.

Almost doubled my previous best in Funhouse with 93,795,060 to bump me up to 106th place.

My score for Arabian Nights is 172,717,830. Forgot to look up my Gofers score, but I think it's in the 231mil range.

Thinking I should probably work on some of my scores in Pinball FX 2 scores soon. My Paranormal score is the only one I can remember standing out. It seems to take a whole lot longer to learn those tables though. There are crazy amounts of targets and modes compared to physical ones.

The Pinball Arcade just updated their Kickstarter page to announce that XBox 360 game codes will now be available as rewards!

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1067367405/pinball-arcade-the-twilight-zone/posts

Figured I was going to settle for a free iPhone version originally. Really excited to see if this gets made because if it does and sells well then that seriously opens up the possibilities of the tables they'll be able to add on down the line.

I really love their physics engine and table recreations, but everything outside of those bits have been a huge mess.

It's amazing the contrast between how professionally everything looks and runs once you start up a game of pinball and how amateurish the UI, DLC, and patches are handled.

In other news there's new $20 and $40 rewards on their Kickstarter page. I upped my donation from $10 to $20 now since the 20-level will get you the table on two platforms:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1067367405/pinball-arcade-the-twilight-zone

So maybe mid-Julyish we'll be getting a flood of 6-8 tables for the 360 version?

Well that's not good. I was lucky enough to queue the tables for download before they went down.

Loving Monster Bash so far. Had never played it before tonight. If they do end up wiping the leaderboard scores I'm not too worried, I'm pretty sure I can do what I just did again. Cleared just over 1 billion points, almost 700 million of which came from the wizard mode alone.

The theme and music on that table is so cheesy that I can't help but love it. It's a great contrast to Cirqus Voltaire where I like the table, but the music for the majority of the bonus modes is beyond bland. I dread getting Neon Multiball with its single thumping bass note looping over and over the whole time.

Now if we can get No Good Gofers converted over to The Pinball Arcade I'll be all set for cheesy 90s guitar riffs. Love how getting the super jackpot during multiball changes the in-game music to the game's theme song for the rest of the ball.

EDIT: Also, I think Cirqus Voltaire got updated to show the backboard when you get the canon ball side show like what it does on the iPhone version. It had never done that before for me on the 360.

Completely ignoring gameplay bugs, I cannot fathom why a person would willingly donate this time. Sending out broken ps3 codes days after they can just be bought from the store, spending weeks "trying" to "fix" them, going radio silent, then a couple months later saying "whoops our support system is poo poo and we lost track of everyone's complaints you'll need to start again but we're super seriously trying this time no really".

Then the KS exclusive ball skins that you had to kick in more for or miss out on forever? Hahaha just kidding everyone gets them for free now no refunds.

Not this time farsight.

At least PS3 players could eventually play the tables they helped fund. I'm a 360 player and donated for both Twilight Zone and Star Trek. Can't justify donating for another table I'll never play. :dawkins101:

Hadn't played it since the 360 version went dark and that score's already close to or above my personal best!

Apparently Farsight is including mobile and PC scores in the rankings. Hopefully it's because I don't have anyone on my friends list with the game yet, but I couldn't find anyway to show only friends on the leaderboard. The only options I had were for "Overall" and "My Score."

FarSight Studios posted:

To our iOS users, we apologize for the delay, but Apple is currently delaying our latest release due to a question they have raised in regards to our option to pre-purchase tables in a Season. The latest release was rejected because the Season 3 Pass is offering content that is not yet available, whereas they're recommending that content should be immediately available after purchasing. Obviously this has been something that we have been doing for awhile and something that they have approved in the past, so we're trying to work through the misunderstanding with them. To those who have already purchased a Season 3 Pass on iOS, your Pass is not in an any danger. This issue will cause anywhere from a few hour delay to some days, we're hard at work trying to resolve this issue with Apple as soon as possible. Thank you so much for your patience in this regard!

Stern is partnering with Planetary Pinball and Chicago Gaming to manufacture the Medieval Madness remake. I imagine this'll help prevent the kinds of delays that JJP has run into with its Wizard of Oz table.

Stern's Facebook Page posted:

Planetary Pinball, Chicago Gaming and Stern Pinball announce Specialty Manufacturing Arrangement

CHICAGO, IL – MAY 14, 2014 – Planetary Pinball Supply (“PPS”), Chicago Gaming Company (“CGC”) and Stern Pinball, Inc. (“SPI”), today announced a specialty manufacturing arrangement pursuant to which SPI will make its manufacturing facility available to PPS and CGC to assemble their remake of the Medieval Madness (“MMR”) pinball game.

CGC, which has a long-standing business relationship with SPI, will assemble the game for PPS in SPI’s factory using SPI’s factory labor and production line assets. The game will be assembled with parts supplied by CGC which consist of original WMS specification parts combined with the new electronics and lighting systems designed by CGC. Final prep, packaging and shipment will be from CGC facility in Cicero, IL.

“We think this arrangement provides the best solution to insure the timely delivery of a high quality game for our customers who wish to own this legendary title” said Rick Bartlett, President of PPS.

“We have a long-standing relationship with SPI and its high capacity manufacturing operation will allow us to complete the MMR games in a timely fashion,” added Doug Duba, President of CGC.

“We’re looking forward to helping PPS and CGC exceed the expectations of Medieval Madness pinball enthusiasts,” said Gary Stern, President of SPI.

From Farsight's responses on the blog post:

"The massive amount of content we have available in our game has finally caused us to reach some limitations of the Vita hardware. We are currently optimizing the game and should have thing ironed out in the next few weeks. We don’t have an official release date, but we will be announcing in our newsletter and on our social media pages soon."

and

"The PS3 and Vita version are still fully supported. We should be releasing by mid next month."

so you can expect to see season 4 tables on the PS3 and Vita sometime in early 2016.

Looks like the company taking preorders (and down payments) for Predator Pinball never actually had a license from Fox to make the table based on their movie. Whoops.

At least now they're in communication with the company that legitimately licensed Alien for a table to try and help them out so the project may not be a total bust.
