So I'm also looking to get a second monitor to hook up to my laptop since it looks like WFH is going to be going on for a long time. However my laptop only has one HDMI out, and it looks like the best way to add in a second monitor is to get an HDMI splitter that runs out of USB 3.0. How bad does that tank the refresh rate on my monitors if I do that, usually? I was also thinking of getting a decent 1440p to go along with this as well but I don't want to get something nice if it works like crap with that setup. Graphics card on my laptop is GeForce RTX 2060.
