Well I think my current monitor is gonna bite it soon so I'm looking at the u2211. The 23" is $50 more, what should I do?

When I roll, baby I roll DEEP
All you people with your awesome dell monitors are making me jealous. My 6-year-old 19" 5:4 LCD poo poo the bed and I needed something to replace it on the cheap so I opted for the Asus VW246H. It seemed like a good choice for what I will be using it for (watching porn, web surfing, playing xbox and ps3 at friends houses.) Tell me I didn't make a terrible choice.

Just got this one this week. It took a little bit of tinkering to get the colors how I wanted them but I really like it. The stand sucks and the monitor itself is NOT glossy, just the bezel is. That bummed me out a little but honestly for $200 it's hard to go wrong.

I kinda want one of those overlord displays but that decal is hideous. Could I strip it off with fishing line or goo gone or something?

So with regards to discounts...this one might take a bit of doing, but it's really worthwhile at present - if you have an AMEX card that qualifies - and live in the US, obviously.

Steps:

1. Have an AMEX card that earns membership rewards points.
2. Add that card to your Amazon account (if it isn't already), and click this link to link your AMEX points to Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=16218619011
3. Activate a 20% discount (max discount of $100 on any one item) at this link: https://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&no...9&creative=9325
4. Spend as little as one point (easier to just take a single dollar off) to activate a max $100 discount on anything on Amazon*.
5. *Items must be "sold by Amazon.com," no Amazon Marketplace or "Fulfilled by Amazon" items apply.
6. The discount *ends* when the discount coffers run out of money, but in the meantime, you can use this as a blanket 20% off everything on Amazon so long as you have some AMEX points to spend and there's still money in the discount fund.

Current discounted high-end monitors:

ASUS PG348Q (100Hz IPS G-Sync, older panel) 34" 1440p UW for $699 after discount: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C83BE6U
ASUS PG279Q (165Hz IPS G-Sync 1440p) for $596 after discount: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017EVR2VM
Acer X34P (120Hz IPS G-Sync 1440p, slightly newer panel than 3418DW but worse support backbone) for $899 after discount: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-X34-Pbmiphzx-UltraWide-Technology/dp/B079FV8S5M

Prices are all before taxes, of course.

I didn't know I could link my amex points to amazon. Gonna cop that PG279Q, thanks!
