I've been doing my show for the last 4 years, but I'm a dude who wants to get into radio, so my show is very much about news. Feel free to listen and let me know what you think, cause I do the show alone for at least 1 hour a day. Weekdays. I very much appreciate it.

short version is Voice123 and Voices.com

They they are free to join but 99.999999% guranteed you won't get any job leads if unless you upgrade to paid membership. If you go free you can see jobs but can't submit auditions. I've lucked out on voice123 but not voices. I get lots of job listing every day but you're up against a lot of people who are doing the same thing, including me...

I'm actually re-recording my demo next week. It's so pricey to do it right, its kind of sick.

Re-recording your demo? What do you use to record? I would just do it myself.

But you said "anybody else" so are you doing a daily podcast?

I was talking to the PD at X 103.9 today and he gave me some advice about my specific show.

I hope I can help anybody else.

Also, I am the Host of the Wedge Radio Show and the other guys are co-hosts that have no radio experience.

FIRST: When doing show prep, make sure to have an opinion to argue that is contrary to at least one person on the show. This makes better Radio.

Second: Push to be Proper for your audience. If you say gently caress and poo poo then you shouldn't have a problem talking about eating pussy, this is what he told me, don't be go around saying things when it's uncensored. If it is censored, then keep it that way and watch the content.

Finally: Know your cohosts and their buttons. Push their buttons to get them heated about topics. Take the Helm and make the people in the show MAD! They get upset, then it creates a great radio show because it's real. Even though you might be arguing poo poo that's not what you believe. You're playing a character, you're not you. Make it work.

He is a big talk fan and has been in the business for over 20 years. The guy is appreciative and funny, so he doesn't come across as conceited or like an rear end in a top hat. I hope I help somebody, cause it helped me!

Here is a bit of my equipment. Granted, this is my life's goal. I love Talk Radio Show too much.

This is our set-up.
I use 3 MXL 990 mics with shock mounts.
We have 2 Windscreens.
1 Pop-filter.

This is our mixer. It's GREAT having a faders as opposed to pots.
a Pro Style 4 Channel Stereo Headphone Adapter.
and Finally, we record on a H4 Audio Recorder.

My show is my life/legacy.

Also, I'm very lucky that my pals who do the show with me are able to come in 5 days a week. No SKYPE BITCHES!

I have read this book and I will say that the book is about adopting a mentality of engaging your audience. Show that you are actually interested in what they have to say, respond to them, and provide value other than just plugging your show (which I will be doing right after this).

You can do things like search for people talking about things that your show covers, engage them in conversation, provide quality and genuine content, and then leave it at that. Keep talking with them and build relationships and they will look at your profile, where you should have your show linked, and then check out what you do there.

There is a lot more to it but I think the most important part is to be genuine and build real relationships with people. They will become your advocates.

The book at it's essential is that. The net has changed the world and the customer now really does have the power with their point of views and experience just by sharing online. So, what you need are advocates, they'll spread your word better than you can because they are the audience.

I suggest buying a Compressor/Limiter ONLY for the power of limiting. I recently bought one and boy does it make a HUGE difference. Being able to be excited and loud without worrying is mighty awesome!

This is my new studio! 3 mics, 1 mixer, 2 computers, 1 MIDI controller, 1 compresser/limiter and 3 tables (for stability). The new place I moved to has an extra soundproof room for my dedicated studio! It's amazing. I just need to work on the echo problem I'm having.
