This thing is nice compared to my old DS though. The screen is much better, it's lighter weight, the buttons are a LITTLE easier on my hands, but it's still too small (the normal PSP is the same) but it's going pretty well. Outputting to the TV kinda sucks though, I doubt I will do it very often.

I played the demo for Valkyria 3 among other things, and it is definitely acceptable. I'll probably get it when it comes out at the end of this month, as long as the digital version comes out at the same time as the UMD version.

edit: Oh Valkyria 2 is only 2200 yen with all of the DLC. I guess I will swallow my unhappiness about its schoolyard setting and give it a try.

Also, question: Say you are playing a PS1 game on the PSP and PS3. How do you transfer saves between them?

Anyone know anything about fixing a square button that sticks? Most of the time it works fine, but sometimes I really have to hammer on it to get it to work.

On that subject is the psp persona remake worth getting? I played a bit of the original and remember liking it a lot more then the combat of persona 3 and 4 but it was a bit slow at times.

I only played a few hours of the remake before getting sick of the combat but general consensus is that it's a good port of a not so good game. If you really liked the original than the new localization (which was quite good from what I saw) might make it worth getting.

Valkyria 2 is like coming back to an old friend. That said, *shoots three enemy soldiers in the head* "all right guys, we drove them off!" is kind of hard to swallow. The last game had its silly moments too but in the end, the people still acted like they understood what it means to kill people.

edit: in comparison, one of the sniper's lines in 3 is "don't worry, I'll be seeing you on the other side soon enough" or somesuch.

It's been a while since I've done that, but I think the PSP shows up as a storage device on the PS3 when you hook it up via USB.

Is there a limit to the number of times you can download a game from PSN once you've bought it? I have a GO and a 3000 both with the games on but if either get wiped i want to know i can still redownload them.

You can download them as many times as you want. The only limitation is the amount of devices you register your account on.

Anybody know how to fix a cracked screen on a PSP 1000? I was charging it and accidentally walked across the wire, so it dropped on the floor and the screen's busted

I just started playing Persona 3 too :(

Your best bet is to just pick up another screen and install it. Screens go for about 20-30$, if I remember correctly, and if I recall, installation is really easy. If you know how to use a screwdriver, you should be able to do it.

I think it's outstanding. The controls and camera angle are great. When I first bought it, people billed it as "Crusader: No Remorse for PSP," but it doesn't really control the same way at all. Nor is the gameplay quite the same. It's just a well-crafted action game with an overhead view, which is still pretty rare these days.

The last time I owned a PSP was before the PS3 came out, so I don't know what this remote play thing is all about. Is it actually used anymore or is it some dumb feature they added just to make the list of features longer?

Also I like the Go more and more as I use it. It sure seems like the only reason it was discontinued is because customers didn't know what to think of a game machine with no media reader of any kind. But now that we have the iphone and other things like that, wouldn't people understand better that this is a viable way to do things? Not saying that Sony is handling that side of things as well as Apple, but still...

When I used it to play Bionic Commando Rearmed, it was laggy as gently caress. I guess it was kind of neat in the I can play this PS3 PSN game on the toilet, but other than that it was pretty lackluster. I don't even think they support it anymore.

I didn't actually get that one, but I also found the demo kind of difficult. It got pretty good reviews and what I did play seemed like it would be better with some getting used to.

I just started resistance 1 last night on ps3. At first it was super hard but after I bit I got a lot better, probably helped by partial regeneration, and them leaving health packs. also though, due to me starting to throw grenades *a lot*. 1 will straight out kill about 2-4 enemies which would otherwise give you trouble.

Also I suck at gamepad fps'ing due to being a pc gamer mostly but it looks like I'm improving.

Half-Minute Hero is a really unique RPG that has TONS of stuff to do, and I can't recommend it enough. The Ace Combat games are supposed to be really good, although I still have to try them (I'll probably pick up Joint Assault some time this month)

I had way too much trouble with this (I'm bad at castlevania) but it's fun. It's basically a re-make of Rondo of Blood, which was one of the best linear castlevanias.

Just unlocking SotN was a bastard... and I quit as soon as I'd unlocked it (instead of dying + saving, or whatever) so I had to start right from the beginning or something. Rondo of Blood is drat hard.

'Funny' that you heard it from a gamestop rep. From what I've heard, the psp go's lack of success is due to gamestop demanding that not all psp games are sold online, or they'll put the psp games on the back shelf in every shop (oh, wait). this may be totally untrue (is it?)

Monster Hunter is amazing if it's your kind of thing. You'll either completely love it and play it for 100 hours, or get bored/frustrated immediately and wonder what everyone else sees in it. I'd say it's worth a try.

e: there are probably demos of some of these you could try, I'm pretty sure Monster Hunter has one at least.
