Ugh, I need something Sterny to listen to (that's on youtube or somewhere that I can access from work, without actually having a Sirius subscription.)

Suggestions? Is there a better-than-the-rest Riley/Gilbert/Hank/Beetlejuice appearance that maybe I haven't seen? I've heard/seen drunken rock trivia, and that time that Gilbert was doing all of those impressions for Beet, who just sat there all weirded out by him. 'Goo fa you.'

EDIT: I found the 'Hey now' thing I was talking about earlier; misremembered it as a regular show call, but it was from the WUS.

Thanks for that. You've probably heard this one but it's a compilation of all the times Gilbert did his impression of Artie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5ksdbcH9tU

John's alcoholism finally caught up with him. He looked atrocious on Anthony's show last week, but in candid shots you can really see the bloat.

Like lots of fans I have a love/hate impression of John, I love him mixing it up, but he could be such a scumbag. On Anthony's show, when he laughed at all his own jokes, he has this thing where he sticks his tongue out like he's choking. Seems new and almost contrived, I remember his laugh being constant but looking less weird.

I'd love to hear those! I actually liked the era where they had a lot of specialty shows like this, What's worth watching, Geek time, even the show Jason and Will did was p.cool. There seems to be a complete ban on mentioning them on air these days. Did Howard flip out that people weren't paying enough attention to the main show and ban them?

I loved Black On Black, I'd love to hear them man. I miss the variety too. B.O.B was the only show aside from the main one that made me laugh out loud. Such a lame cop-out getting rid of Back Office Radio, Geek Time, all that poo poo was at least something new. Even Jackie's Joke Hunt was fun at times.

At the gym I've been listening to all the 2006 shows and the energy is great. Howard talking about how he's going to program three full channels of original material (lol) and Artie killing it. The CBS lawsuit stuff is tedious as hell and I skip through it, but it is funny to note how much Howard made fun of Les Moonves for having big fake chompers and a trophy wife.

He does bust on Bernie a lot which I find obnoxious since it's obvious that Howard is clueless about Bernie's platform and views (yeah I know, Howard making uneducated comments, color me surprised). While he's always been automatically pro-anything New York, you'd think he'd have a grudge against Hillary and Bill since they've personally snubbed him, whereas Bernie and Trump have given him public support.

Agreed -- I love Artie and the show is a shell of its former self without him, but he was pretty brutal towards HPM. "I'm a gay basher and I'll bash your gay head in." HPM was only saying poo poo, which shouldn't get under any comedian's skin if they've done nightclubs with hecklers everywhere. George is too genuine for Howard. Case in point: George and Brad happily attended Richard Christy's wedding, whereas Howard, Beth and Robin did not.

What are some of the little touches about the show that always put a smile on your face? Two that come to mind for me are when Hook Nose Mike would call in, and his greeting became obligatory but secondary to the conversation. "Hey there Howard ya hook nosed jew bastid, listen:"

My other favorite is whenever Dominic, Bloated Attorney would call in and Fred would do the gurgling noise right away. There's so many touches that Fred adds, it's hard to think of them all.

Jesus Christ, Ronnie. What a psychotic moron!

He gets so angry at Wolfie, and then this pattern happens.

1. Wolfie relates some story about Ronnie's behavior that he observed.

2. Ronnie gets psychotically angry, denies it all, insists that Wolfie was wrong, and did a bad job observing him.

3. Once Ronnie calms down a little, Howard asks for his side of the story.

4. Ronnie's side of the story is exactly the same as Wolfie's, and Wolfie was 100% factually correct. Then Howard plays a piece of Wolfie's tape, which also totally backs up whatever Wolfie's claims were.

This first came up when Wolfie followed Ronnie to the set of Sandler's new Netflix movie, and it came up over and over again last week when they were recounting the trip to Vegas for the Stripper Oscars. Also, Ronnie is a bully: once he latched onto "Wolfie is an idiot because he is a grown man who likes comic books", he would not let that die, repeating it over and over even when it had zero relevance to the conversation.

This is why I love him. He's entertaining because of his behavior. LFSW! Cum like the moon.

I think that is a specific dig at Sal.

I think it's Shuli -- while he got mad at Sal and Richard quite a bit, they came and visited him at the Nick and Artie show. I used to download and listen to all of those because they had a decent dynamic, and there was one day when they had "guests in the studio that they couldn't announce because they could get in trouble," something like that. My memory is crap but I seem to recall that you could kind of hear Sal and/or Richard laughing off-mic.

Artie getting pissed at them and calling them hacks was a combo of drugs, the turmoil-encouraging environment of the Stern show, and the fact that they were being bitches about him making fun of them. I think that once Artie left he was still buds with them, but Shuli is truly a hack, his stand-up is terrible and when he sat in on the show he paled in comparison to Artie and was purely sycophantic.
