No one else finds it funny that Justin Bieber would do a shout-out to Howard and Beth via a Twitter post, and then Howard dedicating his "shout-out" to the next Sybian ride?

Gotta admit, that was funny.

edit:

thanks, appreciate it.in return I'm dedicating the next sybian ride to you. RT @justinbieber I’m dedicating #NeverSayNever3D to u and Beth Friday, February 11, 2011 7:57:29 AM via web in reply to justinbieber

Speaking of which (and I don't like to make posts like this), is there an ability to grab the episodes of Nick & Artie so I can edit them down for my personal listening to make them sports-talk free? It seems retarded, yes, but I'm just curious.

I tried a link on here pages ago and it's only the most recent eps that are available to download directly to disk, but iTunes is grabbing them from the site somehow and I'd like to know how...

But if you do this, please post them here or upload them to youtube. I love them when they're not talking about sports. With some exceptions of course. The interview they did with the guy who wrote a book about Lebron being a whore was awesome and I think would be enjoyable even for non-sports people to listen to.

:v: Leave it to me to come straight here and post that after a 20-hour shift at work. I'm a cock. Thank you!

I will work on it, really. I am no sports guy, I'll watch it if it's on but with next to no interest - actually, probably with lesser interest than Howard watching sports!

EDIT: These files range from 24kbps to 128kbps. Any recommendations on what bitrate to save the final product to, and what, so it doesn't sound like poo poo?

Reminder: as little as he works now, as much money as he has, as much as he's accomplished...

He is miserable. I take comfort in that. Why do you think he gave up karate, chess, painting and, soon to be, photography? It's because he's only good at radio. As much as there is competition out there - whether it be conservative radio (O'Reilly, Rush, Hannity) or Howard-clones (O&A, Bubba, Imus), he's still the best at it. Even if his loving show sucks now.

Of course, due to all of the above, I wait for the day to tune in again when his wife leaves him, he loses his pets and house, and his subscribers dash out in droves.

I like it when he's angry. Call me crazy. :v:

Okay, so I have to air something really quick that is frustrating me. I downloaded all the eps of Nick+Artie on their official site using FlashGot (all the MP3's in one swoop). I'm editing the first few and I notice that by the end of hour 2 on the first few episodes, it cuts off quickly and then by hour 3 it's an intro for the last segment.

What the hell? Did they upload incomplete shows, or did I download them wrong? What's the deal? Can someone else confirm?

It just makes me realize more that he does the best that he can to be human, but overall he's still miserable and is desperate to stay relevant in show business. And why not? When it comes to his image, all people hear is sex-and-fart jokes.

Yes all in all it's drug addiction and general self-loathing, and those two things combined are absolutely life-consuming, literally and figuratively. I was kind of expecting something more out loud than what I pictured the scene to be I guess.

IIRC Artie told a story on Stern a few months or a year or so before he left the show, and he basically stated he was so deep into heroin addiction that he almost walked up the stairs to the 2nd story of his house, and just run full-tilt out the window to stop the craziness. I don't know for sure if that's how he said it, but it definitely puts an image in one's mind.

Don't do heroin, kids.

There was another Stern parody porn back in the day, I think in the early 90's. I never saw it, but I heard them play the audio of it extensively at the time (probably because the more exposure, the better, unlike now).

The actors didn't sound anything like their influences at all, unlike this new one...so, basically, it was an average porno.

Well if that's your opinion, I highly recommend this new Stern parody. If you're a fan, you'll love it - even if you're not into porno flicks.

I used to hate it when porno had goofy satire, plot, anything that didn't just get down to it. Now that I'm getting older, I'm starting to get why the average joe used to go to the theater and watch these things. Sex was just a side-dish, the movie itself had SOME semblance of interest of a story.

Of course, if you're into satire or a fan of what they are goofing on, it's gonna be more interesting. A quick Google search points out that there are also current, yes current, parodies of both Bewitched and Three's Company. Who knew.

re: Dr. Drew, of course I knew him from Loveline and always thought he was really top-notch. Bright, and very on the mark when it came to sex issues and/or drug addiction.

However, one thing I will say about his "entertainment persona" - he's really disgusting. A lot of the footage on "Celebrity Rehab" and "Sober House" was staged, and the treatment itself never lasted beyond a few weeks. Any doctor (or addict for that matter) can tell you that a 30-day program is the bare minimum for its effects to take hold.

My sources on the above paragraph by the way are from Steven Adler's book, My Appetite For Destruction, and Steven Tyler's book, Does The Noise In My Head Bother You.
