There's a good chunk of like 8 eps or so where Gorg is slowly walking to a destination and it gets real repetitive, and unfortunately the cast is fairly one-note which makes the repetition worse.

Also the show is a lot more entertaining before Gorg enters the picture. I think the early stretch where they're basically on a road trip across America is really, really good, but I started losing interest once Gorg showed up. I ended up never finishing it.

The Dougram crew just massacres 20 people in a totally lop-sided battle, and are all like, dang, wish that had gone down differently. Nowadays a giant robot pilot kills like three people in the whole series, max. I can think of three Takahashi series including Dougram where the POV characters slaughter a hostile but functionally helpless opposition and it is never shown as a good thing.
