Intel has some decent pricing in the lower edge, but even there its not like intel doesn't have Sandy Bridge based celerons that are like $80. It has been true here and there, but all in all not so much for the current generations of processors. Intel is the better price and performance at this point at least in the enthusiast/gaming world.
