Even if he wasn't knocked out he's more likely to hurt himself more trying to stand with 2 bad leg actuators than get up and do anything.

If I'm directly behind the Wyvern, in hex 820, is it still able to shoot me with one arm's worth of weapons (All it's pulses are in the right arm so that would be bad)? If so I'm just going to stay at ~7 hexes range and plug it from a distance instead of potentially eating all three of it's lasers at point blank on a hail mary shot.

Hm, that puts me a little closer to the incoming reinforcements than I'd like. Given the facing, I'm not sure I'd be able to break LoS on the next turn. I'll have to check my to-hits, but I think I'll just head over to 0218 or so and shoot my ERLL and ERPPC from longer range and hope that the War Dog's closer ranged shots are enough to finish the job.

I guess it just depends on how willing the Capellans are to blow down those dinky light buildings to get to me. I'll have to take a look at my options some more when I get home before sending in a PM. 920 is probably plenty safe, and I would really like to make sure that we take as many pulse lasers off the field as possible.

OK, definitely going to go to 0920. It should help quite a bit to make sure the Wyvern goes down. Going to stack my ghost targets on the War Dog, since the Wyvern can't actually shoot me in 920, but it can shoot it's pulses at the War Dog on 8s. There's no way I can get tagged on the followup turn unless Comstar opens up on us or the Sha Yu turns back around.

The Ebon Jaguar name didn't get invented until after the novel line was basically finished. I'm a Clanaboo and I didn't know it has an "official" Clan name until after I started this LP.

PoptartsNinja posted:The Ebon Jaguar name didn't get invented until after the novel line was basically finished. They only gave it one because people on the official forums sperged about how the fluff said the name came from DCMS pilots on Luthien. Behind Enemy Lines: Tactical Update 7 “Yup, definitely another lance over here,” Hellhound confirmed. His Cerberus’s bulbous arms rose as he snapped off a couple of shots with his Gauss Rifles encouraging the new arrivals to keep their heads down and stay respectful. The enemy’s reply was immediate, the azure flash of a PPC passed meters over the Cerberus’s left shoulder. A flight of LRMs fell short, peppering the rusty soil with explosions. Bergit Lowe kicked her Nightstar into gear. Hers was the slowest machine in the company. Unlike the rest of the lance, she had to balance the need to attack with their need to escape later without abandoning her machine. Major Marik’s life hung in the balance, true, but she wasn’t about to let the Capellans get their hands on her `Mech. “Any idea what we’ve got, L—” she corrected herself midway through saying LT, “—hound?” “I can only see one,” the Lieutenant said. “It’s new. drat the Helm core, the Capellans are catching up faster than I’d like.” “Who knows what else they’ve been up to,” Bad grumbled. “I keep hearing rumors about salvaged ‘Clan’ `Mechs on the market. Maybe they’re reverse engineering the things.” “If they are, we are,” Bergit pointed out. “I wouldn’t worry about that. Just having a machine doesn’t give you enough technical expertise to build one. They’re probably just doing the same thing we are: taking existing frames or recovered blueprints, modifying them a bit, and putting on different armor arrangements to see what works best against Lostech weapons. That’s why the Cerberus’s armor is rounded: with luck it’ll deflect a Gauss Rifle round rather than letting one punch straight through.” Movement Phase Maelstrom (Player) - Generating Ghost Targets on War Dog (4 base + 2 ECM Tuning = 6): rolled 5, fails! Viva Miriya, think we should hang around on the left side of the map, like around the 3 line behind the civvie 'Mechbay, or the dome directly south with the downed Bloodhound? That or just completely retreat north and sit in cover there taking potshots? Being able to shoot from a flank is really excellent and without jumpjets I feel like we'd be at a pretty big disadvantage up in the hills north of town, since they will be able to close in on us much faster than we can keep distance/los broken. On the other hand, we've still got a slight edge in weight and the initiative lets us get backshots/take lots of kicks pretty easily if they close in to point blank range.
