If you have them I'd very much appreciate it. It's much easier to apply electronic crayons when the picture isn't a blurry mess.

aren't the old images in data/images/units/unused in the mekhq directory? you should see archive and units_original there.

Have we heard from Sair at all? I dont see any posts by him recently. If he is afk a second turn do we get to submit proxy orders for him? My orders are in to run as close as I can, but I will still not be in weapon range unfortunately

Especially when they overheat your card and detonate your SRM-6 ammo. Edit: I think that's the fastest I've seen a pilot go from perfectly fine to very nearly chunky salsa in a 'Mech that still has most of its armor intact and hasn't taken a single cockpit hit. Aeaea 15 Tigre’s battle armor cracked open like an eggshell. He didn’t even wait for the arm joints to lock before wrenching his long, tanned limbs from the confines of his battered elemental. A quick glance Jenik’s direction told him her armor would have to be cut off. It was blackened and seared and so full of holes and harjel that it was effectively useless, but it would keep her safe and alive long enough for the MedTechs to aid her. Technicians and laborers pressed their backs to the wall as he ran full tilt through the temporary command center’s hallways. It took less than six seconds to reach the communications center where, without so much as a word, Tigre simply shoved a CommTech out of their chair and settled in to tap into the planetary network. “Messinia Base to all units,” the young warrior was pleased he’d managed to keep his voice calm. “Have just defeated enemy jamming, we are under attack by unknown—” “Tell us something we do not already know, Messinia base,” a command frequency cut him off. The monitor identified the speaker as Star Captain Lucius, Galaxy Commander Juan Camejo’s aide. “The Galaxy Commander is dead and our own garrison cluster has turned against us. Freeborn commands all over Circe have turned traitor, we are in the midst of a full-blown rebellion!” “The Nameless Clan has returned,” Tigre spat. “We have joined forces with them to battle foes claiming to be members of the scientist caste—” “A trick, quiaff? The Nameless were exterminated long ago and scientists are incapable of fighting. They have neither the courage nor the temperament to do more than hide. We have not been able to get a message to allied forces off-world, the HPG network appears to be completely down. Defeat your opponents quickly and link up with the rest of your cluster. We could use Star Colonel Kyung-Ja to take overall command of—” “The Star Colonel is dead. Star Commander Rozalija is ranking.” “Stravag incompetent!” The link disconnected without another word. Tigre slumped in his chair. Messenia Base had no freeborn warriors, the Clan could hardly trust lesser warriors with the next generation of BattleMechs, but the bulk of the Coyotes had joined Clan Wolf’s crusade. Clan Wolf, another dead Clan arisen from the ashes of the past like a phoenix, in complete defiance of Nicholas Kerensky’s wishes. The dead should remain dead and buried, forgotten, supplanted by their betters. The Wolves had become the Widowmakers, the Mongooses had been devoured by the Burrocks, and the Wolverines had become ash. Then the Wolves had returned, and the Wolverines were now aiding Clan Coyote against their own rebellions scientists. And the highest ranking officer on Circe didn’t believe a word of it. “Warrior, forgive the intrusion,” a man in a medtech’s robes bowed where he stood, just outside the communication center’s door. “Point Commander Rajab said I would find you here. We have been ordered to heal your wounds—” “I am fine,” Tigre growled. He sat upright, turning his back on the technician. He was bleeding in places, he knew, but the Harjel would be sufficient until he had time to peel it off after the battle. He had to return to his armor and resume fighting. “Please reassure Point Commander Rajab that I will seek medical attention once the battle has ended.” “Warriors,” the wizened old doctor bowed again. “Always so stubborn.” Tigre felt the small hairs on the back of his neck rise as the doctor rose from his bow a second time. He turned swiftly, rising from his chair, he’d caught sight of the small, dark object held in the man’s left hand in his peripheral vision and acted without thinking. Rather than shooting Tigre in the head as he’d been planning, the doctor’s merely punctured the young warrior’s right lung. A moment later the man’s neck snapped with a pop that was audible even over the meaty thwack of the hastily aimed right cross Tigre smashed into his jaw. Good lord, just look at all the burning wrecks from destroyed 'Mechs littering the map. So, good news, at least, the Golems, while out of ammo for their SRMs, are now in point blank range to start launching leg attacks at the remaining society mechs. This doesn't do a ton of damage (4), but it does have a decent chance to cause a leg crit. I would say that it is still extremely nice to set the Osteon's woods hex on fire (Infernos/plasmas), especially since it is not moving yet again. But, without a real way to coordinate which mech the Golems might attack that would be bad if you roasted one of your best assets remaining. Goons need to be careful since their mechs are largely open in many sections, and the remaining two Society machines are amazing critseekers. We can probably guess their hidden objective is killing off any commanders, since they've gotten both the Clan officers and are at 2/3 complete.

Oh wait, I forgot that the Golems are using fireproof armor. LIGHT THOSE WOODS UP, FRIENDS. e: Also, probably worth waiting for the Black Watch to trundle up and get in their faces to tank for those of you who's armor is full of holes. Wow, all those pilot hits to the Wolverine were brutal... Doesn't help that he's unconscious and on fire as well, but that might help him cool down for a couple of turns until he wakes up if he remains untargeted with so many other threats to the Osteon in the area. And now the Gurkha is also missing it's sword. Shame, seeing another melee attack with it against the Osteon (with the possibility of ending this) would've been cool. Oh well... The Elemental who made it to the communications center probably wasn't gonna contribute much to the battle what with his how degraded his point was, but now he definitely won't be helping. And of course the Coyote leadership doesn't believe the frontline reports. Oh well, something will come of this after the mission is over and the AAR is done.

Ouch. From the objectives here though I’m going to suggest we keep the Dragoon safe - the only thing I can think of that would trigger 2/3 Society Objectives with me going down is the loss of two of our three command mechs, and the fluff has hinted that they have been targeting commanders. If we can dislodge those last two without exposing the Dragoon we have the best chance of letting them pry victory from defeat. Or so I think. If I’m unconscious I guess I just sit tight and try to wake up.

As the Black Watch's pilot, I'm gonna second this - not only do I have hardened armor, I may have the freshest mech on our side. A quick glance at the unit sheets says most of our forces have at least one or two armor breaches.

Is our Wolverine II dead? Because his 'Mech is alive, but god, has he taken a lot of pilot hits! Anyway, I'm still in pretty good shape, and I've vented a lot of the heat I built up in the last turn. Defiance, what support do you need? I don't have the movement to make a melee, but I can get in pretty close. Do you want me to play a big dumb distraction while you and Sair gank that Osteon? I can run to 0906, and unload with a lot of medium lasers onto its left arm/torso. Unfortunately, that side is fairly undamaged. But its back and right side is slightly damaged. Trouble is, our artillery is way out of position, and Manny's been disarmed (I'm not sorry. I'm ashamed, but not sorry).

The pilot of the Wolverine II is passed out and quite unlikely to wake up, so if the opfor wants to kill him they can pretty easily. Just walking to 1107 and continuing to unload on the Osteon or Septicemia is plenty good I think. Gwaihir fucked around with this message at 03:51 on Mar 15, 2018 |
