Honestly, these last couple turns have been what I think most people who voted for Solaris imagined before the game started: all-out badassery, carnage, and mayham.

Ah shuck and heck and all that darn stuff, it looks like the scenario's going to finish before I do! Had to put the brakes on the contest entry sketches because of looming deadlines on paid work, among other things, but I'm done barring any last minute change requests. If you're wondering what was taking up a good portion of my free time, here's the painting I was working on. Like Rolling Thunder it's still sloppy in a lot of places, thanks to me not knowing a whole lot about what I'm doing. It's not nearly as busy as the average piece of 'Mech art but apparently the client liked its sense of imminent and impending violence rather than violence in action, which I appreciated a lot. Also it really should not have taken nearly as long as it did to get done but, well, see previous comment. As a note, the leftwise 'Mech, the Nimravus, is a Lynx derivative from the fanTRO. I took liberties with David White's design but not many. The big looming Assault 'Mech is one of the variants of the Durendal, itself essentially a Davion variant of the Banshee with some body work and extra big guns strapped on, designed by Eriance and slightly de-Mobile Suit-ed. The VTOL is me screwing up Stephen Huda's Harbinger design. The tank in the 2nd MAC colors is the Xuan Wu and it's a right tough cookie, but I wish the original designer didn't give its Gauss Rifles a vaguely railgunnish design since, well, gauss weapons are coilguns, not railguns. The 'Mechs belong to a mercenary unit in the employ of the soon-to-be-conquered/reclaimed St. Ives Compact with a good working relationship with the FedSuns, which explains why they would have something as fancy as the Durendal.

Torsos are overrated anyway.

That is one great corporate tagline.

"Hey, buddy. I've marked you as friendly on my IFF" is paying dividends. We've got a Thunderbolt and a Centurion who could well go down in a turn or two while the Catapult is looking solid in comparison, minus an arm. Of course, if it weren't for that backroom dealing, who knows if Césaire could've gotten this far on his own. Gotta hand it to Felime for playing frightfully smart and playing up to that vaunted Liao sneakiness. It'd be best if Hachiman didn't go up against Capet, too, you know.

Man, the Thud just can't catch a break, can it?

Yep. It only has 16 heatsinks and now generates 15 heat just by existing. He should be glad he no longer has the PPC to tempt him. Have fun riding the snake for the remainder of your short life.

Engine hit is only 5 heat, so the Thunderbolt is still perfectly fine. If he still had the PPC it would be an issue. Occasionally he will have to hold one laser back, but that isn't a big deal. Centurion needs to backstab the Catapult this turn if it wants to have any shot at winning. Do the Capellan thing.

And the T-bolt walks up and clocks the winner of that match up in the face, gleefully reminding his victim that melee attacks don't generate heat.
