When I was piloting I'd just throw the map into paint and use the line tool to measure LoS. Worked much better then simply attempting to eyeball it.

I know last mission I had an easy time with LOS because I never had many enemies in front of me but for this mission I think its a really excellent suggestion.

Precisely how I am doing it, plus asking Krab afterwards. My mspaint diagram also has lots of potential movements, range hash marks, etc on it. Quite a mess, really.

Part of the reason I never applied to be a pilot was that I didn't want to have to dick with planning out routes, keeping an eye on height and LoS. I'm way too lazy for that. :saddowns:

Time constraints were the other reason.

Both will be taken care of for me when Mechwarrior Tactics comes out. :allears:

Except none of us want PTN to impose the late penalty, because we all want those clanners soundly defeated. So we're simultaneously paralyzed with rage and paralyzed with fear.

Hey, don't speak for me! I want the clanners to soundly trounce the players. Actually, what would be even better is if the entire map just erupted into lava or something and all involved on the planet died except for a few mighty urbanmechs the capellans brought along.

I just can't wait to see how the backstab plays out. Will the deception be discovered? Will we get a lucky headcap? (pristine Annihilator IIC!). The potential for awesome clan salvage is just really interesting, it makes me feel like we're playing a mechwarrior 2 mercenaries computer game, except multiplayer.

Yes, and because I work I give myself 24 hours to do an update. Any pilots I don't have orders for right now will time out and an alternate will be contacted to send back-up orders for next turn, just in case.

Maybe, but it also gave us the Hauptmann, the Men Shen, and the Blitzkrieg (which would later become the best medium mech ever). Also the Highlander and Guillotine IIcs were actually good and looked good, too.

Comparatively, TRO:3067's only good mechs were the ones it reprinted out of the Field Manuals.

Oh, as a warning, I re-read the rules for the Recon Camera and it's treated as if it were a tag for spotting, which means it has the same range and you still have to 'hit' with it. Not a huge deal, the range will be updated but for reference it's 15L 10M 5S.

Edit: It also won't make any difference this turn, since the Raven's not firing at a different target.

Doesn't count for special ammo, it just means you can spot for someone with no penalty if you 'hit' with it and fire your weapons too.

PTN, is it necessary to declare for whom you are spotting? Admittedly my only experience is with Megamek, but in there, one spotting unit is enough to spot for every indirectly firing unit. Is that accurate by the rules?
