That averages something like a 30% chance of a pellet hitting his head. Even if that comes up, it's a coinflip whether it crits and from there it's likely to hit sensors or rest of his life support rather than the cockpit. There's a chance he might die, but it's pretty low.

Terrance Williams brought his Atlas to a skidding stop, its broad feet striking sparks from the heavy ferrocrete road. His torso rocked from side to side as he dropped his crosshairs over the nearest enemy and put a gauss slug through its left shin. The `Mech missed a step but caught itself with a tiny, graceful hop. Contemptuously, it raised its single arm and opened fire with its knuckle-mounted medium lasers at a target Williams couldn’t see.

“A good hit,” Miranda warbled blithely, “but the Bowman can take a lot of punishment.”

He leaned his Atlas forward, ignoring the enemy `Mech for the time being. The Atlas pinched its thumb and index finger together and eased the massive digits past the Cyclops’s shattered transplex windscreen. Scissoring those heavy digits apart like a rescue crew saving a trapped motorist with a lostech Jaws of Life, the top of the Cyclops’ cockpit sheered away taking with it an array of delicate sensor antenna. It was almost a crime to damage the `Mech in such a way, but Williams had to be sure it would stay down. With a delicate grace at odds to the battle raging around him, he plucked the enemy pilot from the cockpit and laid the man on the pavement near his right knee. His radio crackled again.

Assuming Yan Company lives past this battle, would a Clan tech UAC/20 be worthy of sending back to the Capellan Confederation for study, or would it better to attempt to use it? I am adjacent to them, thus I should have LoS... unless they have moved. I actually think there is a rule that outright states "If you are adjacent or in the same hex as another unit you have LoS to that unit regardless of anything else"

Ouch, that was a rough turn. On the other hand, the Cyclops is completely out of the game! Things may be looking rough for Goonlance, but on the other hand most of the clan designs are getting pretty worn down, while the Archer and Banshee IIC are both in pretty much pristine condition at the moment.

The Exterminator is extremely vulnerable to getting legged now, if the archer can manage a good kick on it we could see it flailing impotently in the backfield next turn. The Pillager is exposed as gently caress - with 2 armor on the right and 5 on the left torso, those are very open to being hit. This is great, because if it ends up taking a crit in either torso there is a high probably that the gauss rifle will blow up - not only possibly knocking out the rest of the torso but deliving two pilot hits as well (and very possibly knocking this guy out.)

Things might be looking dark but I have confidence you guys can pull this off - and even if you can't both trucks will be in position by the end of next turn. So part 1 of the mission is already accomplished. Assuming you focus well and knock the Exterminator and the Pillager down quickly, the numbers will really start working in your favor. (And every turn you stay in the fight is a 25% chance the Stalker gets back in the game.)

As far as keeping the company in good shape - Gooncompany is just way beyond that at this point. However this ends up playing we will almost certainly have to fold with another company and seriously reorganize or spend several strategic turns refitting and repairing Yan (Possibly playing another mission with a different company in the meantime?)
