Well, that should be all of our orders for the turn. Here's hoping our Banshee lives to tank hits for at least one more turn after this one and that our Rifleman doesn't get disarmed. And if G10 somehow survives, he deserves our utmost respect and possibly a fluff writeup.

On a tangentially related note, apparently Liberation of Terra vol. 2 was released on pdf a week ago!

I plan to buy the hardcopy when it hits the shelves. Awesome to be able to buy something you worked on, grats on getting your art into an awesome book.

ETA: possibly, but it's never happened for admitting that it's what my group does before anyway. One of the dudes now is a mod over on the CBT forums and another has been a Commando for years so we've always done it with their books and then being OCD nerds we all buy the hardcopy when it comes out. Edited anyway, since you were kind enough to look out for a mekbro.

Talyn coughed as acrid smoke from her Omni’s damaged fusion plant filled her cockpit with thin, wispy plumes. They hung around her like undulating serpents and water streamed from both eyes as the air circulators simply pushed the smoke around. She batted at the rank cloud and her `Mech mirrored the motion, its arms flailing like a man trying to fend off one of Arcadia’s gigantic swamp mosquitoes. In theory the clouds were simply a mild irritant, just trace amounts of a variety of chemicals and ozone, but her last major engine overhaul had been made with local materials. Even so, they should have been completely harmless.

Provided she wasn’t allergic, she conceded after another paroxysm of coughing.

The urge to stand, to pull the quick-release and crack open her cockpit canopy was almost too much to bear—but the air outside was even worse: the fast-growing local trees released hydrogen sulfide as they burned, and had to be treated with extreme care. Her adopted Clan had taken to bulldozing them away from any truly important areas though even that never seemed to prevent their rapid regrowth. The locals had always maintained that the trees had a tendency to spontaneously combust once they grew large enough. Talyn had never cared enough to learn whether or not that was true.

She stared downfield, her targeting reticule blurred by the salty tears that filled her stinging eyes. Her target was indistinct, a wobbling blob of color. The flickering blast of her pulse laser missed cleanly, a greater threat to some low-flying local fauna than her chosen target. She couldn’t stand it any longer. She had to get to some clean air and flush the smoke from her already cramped cockpit.

For the first time since the Hell’s Horses had installed her neural implants, Talyn found herself wishing she still wore a neurohelmet.

Not exactly. If there were less than six critable items in the LT then the LPL should roll for crits at the time of the hit, and then the PPC rolls at the time of it's hit if the LPL left two or less items to destroy. Potential transfers and all that.

PTN has been playing that crits to locations that are destroyed in the same firing phase don't transfer. It would be more work otherwise.

Armor damage and some internal hits all around, but no one actually died. Steve stays pristine for another turn.

Two of the Shadow Hawks took quite a bit of damage, too bad neither of them are now out of the fight. I don't think anyone is in range to charge G10 and pull off another move pushing it off the map like the Star Captain did for one of the Grasshoppers, but you guys are in good position to take those two down next turn.

Hopefully your armor will hold out against the Command Lance after that...

Law of the jungle
Fantastic round, Death Ponies did a total of 121, highly concentrated on two of the weaker enemy mechs (and 16 points on the Battlemaster), versus 30 damage on friendly mechs that can take it. Even though the only change in the enemy's damage potential was 15 points (a HVAC-10 and a LRM-5) the Death Ponies are catching up with the Kestrels on inflicting the next casualty grouping to attrition.

Not sure if it's necessary to push G10 of the map, I think it's possible for both H1 and X1, but both legs are about a cML from being cut off, just shoot it to death with some regular physicals to back it up if it doesn't work... the Rifleman can also get out of the Sunfire's firing arc if it goes to 3109, and while I don't think 3009 quite gets the Banshee out of the Sunfire's LoS it's further away and presents its stronger rear armor.
