The Lyran Commonwealth has a democratically-appointed advisory board, thank you very much. We heartily support its existence because of it being limited to only commoners and Barons. You see, Steiners and Kelswas? Doonses and Bradfords? Hard as gently caress to bribe. You know how hard it is to offer Duchess Margaret Doons something she doesn't already have ten of? Now, an elected commoner, like Henry DeCalidor? That's another story.

It didn’t take a genius to realize it which, fortunately, she wasn’t. It didn’t take a technician either, which was also fortunate. Piet would’ve killed anyone who disparaged her so. Even a civilian bystander would have known the Banshee was in trouble, its ferro-titanium bones still glowed an angry red through what thin scraps of armor still clung to them. Even the `Mech’s computer knew it was doomed, alternating critical warnings and depressing diagnostic figures with an imperative that the pilot attempt to eject. Piet ignored it, reaching across the confined space to pull the chipset that controlled her ride’s automatic ejection system. Just another critical warning for the computer to slowly scroll through. Her hands settled on the controls, her eyes focused on the world beyond her heads-up display. Her lips pressed together in a grim smile. There were still enemies on the field, and she would kill them all. It was going to be glorious. FFFFFFFFFFFffffff- I was really hoping they would keep moving south there, but I suppose they have good reason not too. Means I either go out in a blaze of glory against S2 or I camp the hillside for a few more turns. Not sure if we need the single turn of damage I can deliver now or if I'll do Goonlance more good by hiding a few more turns. Really wish I still had something a little longer-ranged than this cannon right about now.

One Shadow Hawk goes up in an ammo explosion, one gets its leg mauled. The last Grasshopper quits the field, so Storm Company has been completely neutralized. The only ones left besides the Command Lance are the stragglers from Grey Company, and they number 3 Mediums: a badly damaged Shadow Hawk, and a Phoenix and Shadow Hawk that have taken some amount of armor damage. Sweep them from the field and then the remains of GoonCompanyStar can go and bring all firepower to bear against the Command Lance to finish this. Shame about the Banshee getting ripped up like that, those Engine hits are bound to hurt it shortly, although less no than a mech without double heat sinks... Still, that Banshee is a wealth of Clan tech to the Cappellan Confederation, and the Death Commandos will want to keep both it and the pilot intact to be returned to Sian. Piet may have different ideas, but lets see how this will play out. Oh and PTN, you still have H3 listed as a Widowmaker in the End Phase step when you were rolling for crits. Also, the results after the G9 Shadow Hawk hit the Rifleman IIC with Acid rounds is a bit confusing, because I can't actually understand how much damage was dealt to each part of the Center and Left Torsos and the damage isn't reflected in the mech status update block. \/\/\/\/\/\/\/ EDIT: Ah, so I guess the supposed splash damage to the Center Torso was an artifact of last update that wasn't cleared away? I should have known, seeing as how the armor value for the CT didn't correspond to that of the Rifleman IIC at all. GhostStalker fucked around with this message at 07:51 on Feb 27, 2013 |

Though to be honest, I too was kind of expecting it to be a little one sided at the beginning, and I'm plesently surprised by how well Gooncompany and Goonstar have aquitted themselves against the Grenadiers.

G1's obviously just there to draw fire and buy time but I just don't feel comfortable leaving a mobile Large Laser hanging around our backsides. With at least half of the boss lance we can mitigate their LOS with jump mobility for now, but the other half is staring right at our most vulnerable units and I'm not abandoning them to play keepaway with the Battlemaster just yet.

I guess G10 being taken out by the Merlin was added to the kill list before the Jagermech left the field, which was then attributed to either side of the ledger randomly due to neither being ahead? Is depth 1 water always cover against beam weapons aimed at the legs? Seems quite profitable for the Banshee to take a dip, not suggesting anything as I'm sure the pilot knows better, though I'm curious as to how that would work. I guess ballistic weapons, physical attacks and possibly PPCs would do damage? Or does it have to do with the angle of the surrounding land when terrain blocks damage?
