Holybat posted:Oddly enough, just shot my orders to you right when this post went up. My orders have been in since yesterday, since it was real easy to decide what to do this turn, especially after finding out that activating Berserk Mode and letting it do its thing is apparently enough for a turn's orders unto itself. Now to see what havoc unleashing ZA BEASTO! will bring. If all goes according to plan, it should do something fierce to the Behemoth and/or the Stay Puft Marshmallow Urbie instead of the other members of Hogarth's Heroes. Guessing now that I should've asked PTN if there was a chance for friendly fire in Berserk Mode before I activated it... GhostStalker fucked around with this message at 23:28 on Jul 9, 2013 |

Arm Torn Off! “We’re so hosed,” Vasquez mumbled, “we’re so hosed… we’re so hosed!” “Vasquez has gone bye-bye,” Andrew fought through another snicker. “General, what do we do?” “I’m sorry, Andrew. I—” Hogarth paused, his Atlas twisting as though shaking its head, “—I have no orders for you right now.” Andrew held his tongue for a few moments, mostly to regain his own composure, and managed, “Then trust me, General. Because I do.” “I mustn’t run away,” the radio continued to crackle quietly with Vasquez’s ranting. “Vasquez,” Andrew’s voice was calm even as the Behemoth’s firepower pulverized his armor and shook his `Mech like a colossal rag doll. He let fly with his PPCs, not caring where or even if they hit, but continued with absolute sincerity. “This ghost gets inside of you, turns you into some twisted monster—and he’s going to destroy everything you know and love.” Andrew paused for a brief, melodramatic moment before adding, “He killed Drake.” The Banshee shuddered as though it had been struck by a Gauss Rifle, its torso twisting back and forth as if the machine itself were searching for something. It’s man-shaped head turned towards the distant Behemoth, cockpit glass glinting like a pair of sunglasses for a brief moment. With a roar (that would be added in post) the hydraulics holding the false head in place strained to torque the head upwards, making it appear as though the Banshee had opened a mouth the real `Mech simply didn’t have. It lurched forward with jerky, spider-like motions and Hogarth’s Atlas twisted to raise its left arm as though trying to recall his enraged subordinate. The arm moved as slowly as Thomas could manage, trying to give the Banshee the illusion of lightning speed as it crossed the ice and clambered up the low hill on which the Behemoth sat. With a colossal crash the Banshee plowed into the Locust that secretly made up the Behemoth’s left arm, tearing the “arm” from the `Mech and descending upon it like a starving man. “Hogarth!” The Red Corsair’s gruff voice filled the comms. “Thomas Hogarth, I don’t know what the hell you think you’re doing coming here; but you won’t even scratch that damned ghost without a PPC! Here!” The armless Battlemaster twisted, kicking out with its right foot to lob its “rediscovered” PPC at the distant Atlas. A flock of frost chickens scattered from directly beneath the weapon, apparently having taken cover there from the snow. The replica weapon was far lighter than the real thing but even then it didn’t clear half the distance. Fortunately, the still active Wolf Trap was on the job, pressing a working weapon into the Atlas’s hand before retreating. Thomas twisted as though he’d just caught the PPC perfectly, and raised the weapon in salute. “Thanks, Duchess. I owe you one.” “To hell with that,” the Red Corsair hissed, “I’m counting on you to save Skye. Don’t screw this up!” Primary Objectives Defend the Red Corsair! well holy poo poo. Guess the Banshee now has the Behemoth tied up, so I'm putting this to the other lancemates here, but do we stay on the Behemoth or are we turning to face the Uburbanmech? Considering how hosed all my armor coverage is, I'm not sure how much longer for the world Colonel Schultz is - maybe it's time for me to go out in a proper Lyran action movie blaze of glory on our stay-puft foe? (and by that I mean, turning, running and firing everything wildly in its general direction)

Wow! ... anyway, I think you need to focus on the Behemoth. Losing the rage hurts somewhat (unless it can bite off legs and torsos), but less than two gauss rifles and two shotguns hurting you for a few more rounds. Plus the Behemoth might just kick off its left leg or something, though I wouldn't put it past it to get up again even with no legs. I could continue my previous plan and go fisticuffs with the Behemoth (made easier now that he's minus an arm!) or try to figure out how not to waste this, apparently, single shot of PPC I have now. Edit: VV No, the Behemoth shot mine off immediately following the Stream-Crossing. The Battlemaster threw the 'handgun' PPC at me. Helter Skelter posted:Hmm, do I focus on the Behemoth and try to knock out some of the larger bits before it actually crits something important on me, or do I split my fire and also try to discourage that Wolf Trap from getting too cheeky? Well the mission might well be over once the Behemoth is destroyed, with the primary objectives of Destroy the Behemoth being met, and that would stop the rest of the enemy, fulfilling the second primary objective and defending the Red corsair. So really, you have to ask yourself; do you think you guys have enough armor and endurance left to take out the remaining enemy forces before finishing the Behemoth.

I have never seen the movie so if the Urbie is a reference then I don't get it. I figured it was another ghost-controlled mech. If that's not the case, then definitely go for the Behemoth to shut down its triple gauss and lbx, and then focus on the Uburbanmech. Just my 2 cents.

What happens at the end of Ghostbusters is they cross the streams to force a gateway that led from the god-plane (or wherever) to our world to reverse its direction and suck in the god-plane things that came through. This took care of the Big Bad, Gozer, but its Destructor the Stay-Puffed Marshmallow Man was incinerated to the molecular level by a side-effect of the stream-crossing.

Sorry about lack of orders so far, I haven't had any access to the internet for a week... I'm probably not going to be able to bang out any orders tonight, as I still need to see what I can do this turn and what the rest of the players and pilots of Hogarth's Heroes are going to be doing. I will say that I will definitely have internet tomorrow night and should have orders in by then. Sorry guys. Also, Berserk Mode was exactly what I thought it would be. Banshee going Berserk a la Evangelion and biting one of the Behemoth's arms off? Nice. So since I jumped into real close proximity of the Behemoth, you think I should start firing at the thing a point blank range, even with my PPCs and their minimum range penalties, or should I back up and then fire? If I don't step back, then I'm definitely taking this Berserk thing further with a kick, though I guess there won't be any more biting anytime soon...
