Minimum range penalties really aren't that terrible. It's a +3 to hit, which is the equivalent of walking at medium range. Backing up a few hexes would make your PPCs more accurate, but you'd have to run the numbers to see if it's a higher expected damage than staying still and kicking.

“OUYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!” Hogarth roared triumphantly as he brought his rotary autocannons back up to full speed. Although most of the rounds he fired were harmless blanks, every so often he’d fire a real tracer—just enough to make things look real.

“Give it all you’ve got, men!” Hogarth yelled, “Mortal courage will always triumph over the dispassion of the dead!”

As if in direct reply, the Behemoth’s gauss rifles struck the Atlas’s broad chest, shattering armor and tearing deep into myomer left exposed by purpose-built breakaway armor plating; but Hogarth was unperturbed. The giant enemy `Mech shifted, taking a half-step forward and kicking the insensate Banshee away with a blow of its massive, cloven foot. Compounding the injury, the giant Urbanmech turned with mechanical precision. One of its autocannons missed the erratically-moving `Mech, but the other struck home. The Banshee scrambled to its feet, heavily favoring its nearly-crippled right leg.

“We need to end this,” Hogarth continued, brandishing his borrowed PPC. “Everyone, it’s time! Prepair for a Final Fusillade!”

Missed the GaoGaiGar reference, I have inadequate super robot animu knowledge...

Now Vasquez needs to be even more hotblooded on top of not taking crits to go off of what she did during Berserk Mode and to make up for this turn of inactivity...

Back up a bit to get out of kicking range of the Behemoth (and wow, did that kick hurt a lot), and then open up by FIRING EVERYTHING again sounds like a plan, I would think.

Yeah, but I don't really want to be the heroic sacrifice. I mean, I will if I have to, but I'm not sure if we need the heroic sacrifice to happen right now. We still probably have the Uburbanmech to deal with after all. And that thing can still shoot me full of holes if I'm not directly next to the Behemoth, which pretty much amounts to the same thing. If that mech takes me out, then I guess the rest of Hogarth's Heroes will get another cinematic boost to their powers or something on top of what they already have now?

Anyway, orders will be are in soon. Backing up as far as I can go, then FIRING EVERYTHING at the Behemoth. Let's hope my armament actually does something good before it gets shot off in the next turn or two...

Which I can't do Monday or Tuesday, since these are the nights I work late. I've done some groundwork, but you should see an update tomorrow. After that, I would ask the players to get their orders in as quickly as possible.

If I'm not able to finish the mission this week, I won't be able to work on it until after 8/10 as I will be taking a trip to visit my parents in Pennsylvania (whom I haven't seen in five years). They have lovely satellite internet that I know from experience prevents me from uploading any pictures. I should have updates ready to go for the TOR thread since I can do those in advance and e-mail the raw text to myself; but due to the nature of this LP I won't be able to work on it at all.

Edit: After this mission ends, I'm also strongly considering starting up a new thread since even with everything but the table of contents removed from the table of contents, I'm only about a dozen updates away from hitting the 50,000 character limit.

You just run the app, paste in your entire OP, click the Minify Forums URLs button, and then copy/paste the result back into the OP. In my case it cut the OP's length by more than half.
