...and with that context, his last words to her I want a divorce turn from those of an already doomed monster losing his last shred of humanity to just plain tragic. I admit that I prefer Ennis' run, but this little nugget of information adds a layer of depth to the character's backstory that we haven't seen the likes of since Born.

Dickeye posted:I didn't think they had actually revealed what his last words to her were. I lost the link, but someone magnified the text in the flashback in the final issue of the last story arc just before Frank and Bullseye falls so that it was just legible, and that's what he says.

The "oh poo poo, people are gonna get hosed up big time" quality of this image is amazing, and it's just a guy sitting at a diner. The suggestion of the shape of the Punisher symbol in his face is what sells it for me. He's drawn just a little more gaunt here than in other panels, and it works out great.
