Ugh baseball betting. I did it once on bender to Vegas a long time ago and lost 5k pretty fast. I loving thought I was genius with totals. I just don’t have the patience to sweat a boring rear end game like baseball. 1k on Matt Wiman @ +300 just because he is the biggest underdog of the night as far as I can tell and the pool hall I’m shooting at tonight has espn+ so I will be able to watch my money burn. I have been working on this idiot for a month at this pool hall. He owns a repair shop for tuner cars and has been coming in with a pocket full of cash. Which either means he sells drugs out of there or chops up cars. We have been shooting 100 a game for the last month or so and I think I’m down 1200 might be a little less. I have been winning about 30 percent of the time. I acted pissed last night and asked him if he wanted to up the bet to 500 so I could try to get some money back. He pulled the I have more money than you do trick and said make it 1k and I agreed. I told him I needed 24 hours to get the money and we are shooting tonight. I picked tonight for a reason. Every Friday is the day he shows up with the biggest roll. So I’m hoping to take it all tonight after I beat his rear end in the first game. He has a big ego and has been bragging a little bit when I’m not around. Last Friday he had at least 7k on him so I’m hoping he has the same tonight.

btw .. depite being terrible at mma betting having literaly never won a bet, im up £3500ish this year on cycling .. i normally make pocket money from that but thats a fortune for me :-] so i might try fairly big bet on nurgamadeovs next fight before tey start giving him silva style odds all the time

Also he bailed last night so someone tipped him off that I was hustling him. Or he just didn’t want to bet that much. Either way a bunch of people gave him poo poo at the casino about backing out. It will be hard for him to gamble at most pool halls around here now until he plays me. It’s amazing how much your ego takes a hit when a bunch of degenerates make fun of you for being scared to gamble. If he was any good at pool I would have picked up on it right away. If he is hustling me god speed but I’d bet another 1k with anyone that he won’t beat me in another game. I’m that confident in my ability.

I love pool hustling stories.  Had a Yoder, Lee, Barbarena, Zombie parlay/round robin. Barb was supposed to be parlay padding, and he was the one that lost. Cost me about 40 bucks. Still, not bitching. My round robin made money.

I'm going to Vegas for fight week, and I was thinking of putting a little pocket change on a fight or two of I find a line that makes sense. I saw Gilbert Melendez was a large underdog against some guy I've only seen fight once, and I think was British. Any feelings on that fight or the other lines?

Arnie Allen is also on a 5-fight winning streak in a deep division. Gil is a big experience step up for Allen, but Gil is also an underdog for a reason. Also consider that Gil's last win was 6 years ago, before Allen made his UFC debut.

Allen has put together a good run so far but I think a lot of it is that Gilbert might be washed. He's pushing 40, has had a near two year layoff, and his last fight before that layoff he took a pretty bad beating from Jeremy Stephens and looked a little outclassed - Stephens is a good fighter but not really an elite one and Gil got his rear end kicked badly by him. And in general his UFC record just sucks and even in his one win he almost got KO'd by Diego.
