This pretty much covers the majority of it:

Also I glanced over the OP and didnt see this:

That is really the site that made MikroTik go from frustration about to sell on ebay, to now my goto router

That should work just fine

Simple queue will be the easiest to set up:

And now that I know someone else has experienced this we can properly blame the Mikrotik and work around it on a future re-deployment at this customers location. Thank you!

SECONDING THIS! I have been trying to track down this problem for 2 weeks after one of my customers reported it!

Is this a new RB450g, or a used one? Mine all sound similar, with the last 2 beeps meaning it is booted and ready. You can try this though:

Does anybody have anything bad to say about the RB1200, I'm considering if for a replacment gateway for a wireless network with 60 mbps pipe and anywhere from 10 to 90 users at peak.

I have a RB1200 at one head end with about 220 customers. At 45Mbps with about 15 firewall rules the CPU hits about 35%. I would go with the 1100ah just to be safe

Before I bitch to Time Warner again, has anyone heard of common issues with regards to a MikroTik router randomly experiencing packet loss? Just started this past week and I've had to call Time Warner support once already. Connection was experiencing 25-50% packet loss according to the RouterOS ping tool then the whole connection went dead. Overseas support did something to the cable modem that brought it back to normal. Now I'm experiencing the problem again only this time RouterOS is telling me it's around 15-25% packet loss. I'm quick to blame Time Warner for the issue but I just want to make sure there aren't any known random packet loss issues related to the MikroTik equipment.

None that I am aware of. What are you pinging? Do a tracert and set up smokeping or pingplotter to at least narrow down where the loss is happening.

Have any queues or interface limits that would cause it?
