It's gotten to the point where I don't even bother looking at any of the standard news outlets to find out about ongoing events - they're guaranteed to be drivelling about nothing at all.

To be fair, at the outset of all of this I remember American top brass of some ilk doing the news talk show rounds and making a pretty clear statement that "if we actually enforce a no-fly zone, civilians are going to die, there's no way to do one without the other", with the implication that people needed to be aware of what it was that they were asking for.
