Awesome craziness here.

Mathaba.net posted:

People have been so worried as to whether the Leader of the World Revolution, Muammar Qaddafi of Libya, is dead or alive. Let us examine this question, and reach some definitive positions based upon the Third Universal Theory, which Muammar Qaddafi championed.

Gaddhafi is apparently Schroendinger's Dictator, both alive and dead at the same time.

Perhaps they will use socialist theory to determine the time and cause of Gaddhafi's death; it's about as effective as anything else it's been used for.

Also, I'm loving the D&D invasion of this thread. "It doesn't matter how many people Gaddhafi had killed or tortured to stay in power for over forty years - he improved Libya's health care, and thus must be mourned and treated with proper and due respect." :downsbravo:

I was selling some scrap gold the other day and I wondered if all this looted and liberated gold from Qaddafi's palaces and vaults is going to do to the gold market. Even if everything was gold-plated, it's a lot of gold plating.

When they came for the people working to peacefully overthrow Gadhaffi over the last forty years, I said nothing, because I didn't give a poo poo.

When they open fire on unarmed protest rallies and killed thousands, I said nothing, probably because MLP was on.

When they linked me to the man responsible for it all being knocked around by a crowd, I lost my shut because poo poo, I dunno, I only just started paying attention to the situation or something but I felt a pressing need to whine to the Internet about MAN'S INHUMANITY without bothering to think about which side was which.

Or I decided to be living proof of Stalin's statement that one death is a tragedy, and a million is a statistic.

For people asking "why are they so mad at the U.S.?", here's another thing to realize - nearly all of those countries were recently under dictatorial rule, and under dictators, movies don't get made without express approval of the government. So to many of them, it's not just 'some guy in Hollywood with an agenda to push made an anti-Muslim movie', it's 'the U.S. government personnally green-lighted the creation of an anti-Muslim movie'.

That's not to say general anger at U.S. actions / poor ME economies / etc. doesn't add to the flames and reasons to protest, but there's also a severe cultural difference between the U.S. and the ME.
