There's been rumours bouncing around the last couple of days, so I'll wait for pictures to be produced.

Now where will Libya360 get their news? :ohdear:

Here's an update from the alternate reality that Libya360 exists in.

LIBYAN RESISTANCE UPDATES, SEPTEMBER 29-30 , 2011

quote:

>The Resistance destroys the NATO rebel headquarters in Gharyan
Anti-NTC operations began three days ago and will continue until completed. Resistance combat units under the command of Khamis Gaddafi, have taken the CIA headquarters in Tripoli along with several other strategic locations within the city. According to Zangtena, the resistance then hoisted the Green flag over the headquarters. They recovered numerous vital, confidential files and will soon broadcast their content.

>Contrary to NTC-NATO psyops, Moussa Ibrahim is alive. He has not been captured either and will deliver a message through Al-Rai soon.

>According to Zangtena, Al Mouatassem Gaddafi has issued orders to execute the leaders of the TNC. From another source, “The Libyan Army is proceeding to systematically take down the operational heads of the bands of mercenaries who used NATO to take over Libyan territory. Several key leaders have been killed in Bani Walid and Sirte. Nuredin Gender, who ordered the bombing of schools, homes and hospitals in Sirte, was among the casualties. These deaths have exacerbated the chaos and disarray among NATO agents, while boosting the morale of the Resistance.”

>According to Zengtena, the resistance fighters detonated explosives in a hotel in the eastern region of Sirte where the rebels and French and British NATO mercenaries were meeting. Reports state there were 90 enemy casualties.

>According to Zangtena, the traitors of NATO have lost their leader Mohamed Nabous following an attack by resistance fighters in Sirte.

>There are fierce clashes taking place in Cyrenaica.

>Green flags have been raised in Darna and Tobruk.

>The Resistance has successfully repelled an attack on the city of Ghadames. The city is of great strategic importance with regards to communications between Algeria and Libya, Algeria and Tunisia.

>The Libyan military are training an elite team of snipers to take down targets with precision, maximizing their advantage against NATO invasions on all fronts.

>Resistance escalates inside Tripoli in the form of armed combat and other acts of rebellion and sabotage. Tuareq warriors are inside the city supporting the Resistance.

>Tuareg victory in Atamsan…150 enemy vehicles destroyed…other details still unknown.
See – 12, 000 TUAREG WARRIORS JOIN LIBYAN RESISTANCE FORCES

>There has been another resounding defeat of the NATO rebels in Sirte and rebel fatalities number in the thousands.

>According to Allibiya TV, fighters of the tribe of Bani Walid Warfala did a sweep of areas that had been the scene of fighting. They found 14 dead rebels. They were transported to the wise men of the city, where they were cleaned and buried. The bodies carried no identification. To help families identify loved ones they were photographed before burial.

>According to Allibiya TV, there was a a shoot-out between the Libyan resistance fighters and NATO traitors in Abu Slim neighborhood in Tripoli. There are no details regarding the number of dead or injured.

Go Gaddafi! Show those evil NATO mercenaries that the Libyan people will never fall to neo-imperialism!

It's a shame so many anti-war people seem to get caught up with this crazy bullshit, because there's plenty of reasons to oppose the war without tainting it with this bullshit. If you want to see more bullshit take a look at @StopWarCrimes twitter list of "good people". It's the Libyan civil war equivilant of Freep.

From what I've seen on Libya360's comments, these people are anti-war because of dumb conspiracy theories like the NWO and nutjobs that support Gaddafi's Green Book, not because of a genuine dislike of war. They're so close, yet so far. :smith:

Other pro-Gaddafi pages are still very much active. Libya 360 is still posting news for an alternate universe, and Libya SOS is pretty sure that Khamis Gaddafi is still alive and that the NATO Fascist Nazis are spreading lies about his death in order to demoralize the "Green resistance" (aka Gaddafi supporters on the internet). Some of them (Libya 360 I think) have said that Tripoli is pretty much under Gaddafi control, so they're still crazy as ever.

Also, I'm pretty sure that Gaddafi has more support from Serbs at this point than he ever did in Libya.

This thread has been generally free of the pro-Gaddafi (or at the very least, anti-everything having to do with the rebellion) types, apart from two tagged and visible chaps. Now he's dead and suddenly there's a flood of new faces complaining about how inhumane his death is. I'm just surprised none of the new folks have cited Russia Today as a source yet.

Maybe not from D&D, though the post someone quoted a few pages ago from the D&D thread was pretty stupid.

I think everybody deserves a trial, but if you really expected Gaddafi to not be killed after 42 years of his bullshit, then you have to be really naive or ignorant about how large anti-Gaddafi feelings are among the freedom fighters. The FFs have been pissed about Gaddafi for a very long time (especially the residents of Misrata), so seeing one or two take justice into his own hands when with Gaddafi isn't surprising in the least.

I hope they capture Saif alive though (for real this time).

There's rumors that Saif was killed as well, but I'm waiting for a picture of the body (like Gaddafi and Moattasim).

According to fighters interviewed by al-Sharq al-Awsat Qaddafi said this after his arrest-

«يا أولادي هل تقتلونني؟ يا أبنائي أنا القذافي.. أنا القائد.. ماذا تفعلون؟»

"My children, will you kill me? My sons, I am Qaddafi...I am the Leader..what are you doing?"

So he said some sort of variation on that. The quote here was translated from Libyan into MSA so it might be an edited rehash of what I posted earlier.

It's pretty creepy that Gaddafi thought of Libya as his family, even though he happily slaughtered them if need be and made them fearful for their lives for 42 years.

I can't wait until Gaddafi's death day becomes a national day of mourning in Serbia and Russia. They're already in denial over it; just need to wait for them to get to "acceptance" before the tears fall.

My grandpa from my mom's side is Russian and he was lecturing me how the protests against Gaddafi are totally stupid and Gaddafi is awesome. Thing is, he was an engineer back in the day who designed the goddam bathyscaphe for the USSR, but apparently simple facts can't get through to him.

Oh god this is going to be a fun topic when I visit him. I tried explaining some valid points, but nope, he knows better and supports the Russian media's opinion 100%. I still don't understand how Russia has these weird political views, especially when the evidence and numerous facts state otherwise. :psyduck:

I'm pretty sure the only reason why Russia is pumping out bizarre "news" about Gaddafi is because NATO is involved. They are completely frightened of NATO and will completely lose it if NATO is involved with anything.

EDIT: Forgot about the oil thing, but I still think their paranoia about NATO is the big driver behind the weird-rear end news you see on places like Russia Today.

Hasn't anyone been told in Russia that the cold war ended 20 years ago?

Russians are hardcore nationalists that put the USA to shame in terms of whiny and aggressive nationalism. Basically, imagine if a good-sized majority of Americans were Tea Baggers. That's Russians.

EDIT: Beaten.

From what I can tell, the Salafis are pretty much an sect that's built entirely on being a giant circlejerk for religious and humorless sperglords/aspies (complete with being 30 year old virgins) who think they know the best for everyone forever, so I'm not surprised that they're spergin' out over how Christians and Sufis are heretics. It's like if you mixed a Redditor with horribly conservative Islam.
