Neither Edward Ka-Spel nor cEvin Key's non-Skinny Puppy work really do much for me, honestly. The only Key project I've really enjoyed I've really enjoyed was Eyes Of Stanley Pain and I think that was largely Spybey's vocals taking the project in a bit of a Puppyish direction. I might be still interested in Puppy if I felt they were making really interesting music still, but IMO the post-reunion music have been the worst stuff they've put out. I really really wish Frozen Sky had been the blueprint for the reunited band moving forward, it's more Puppyish than anything else they've done recently despite technically being a cEvin track with Ogre guest vocals.

This is kind of more TV related, but gently caress that. The upcoming film Iron Sky has some really badass trailers, and one has some super sexy music to go along with it that you fellas might enjoy.

Yeah, it was confirmed at some point that Laibach would be doing the soundtrack to Iron Sky, but since there hasn't been anything about that for quite a long time I don't know if we should keep our hopes up.

Moon Nazis and Laibach are basically everything I like. I have been listening to a lot of Mind.In.A.Box recently and am starting to think that their Crossroads release is probably one of my favourite albums at the moment. They don't really sound like anyone else, and pretty much every track is great. Fear Stalkers Amnesia I got their first album when it came out, since a friend heard of them and raved about it, and although I liked it, I got kind of bored of it since my tastes were a bit different at the time, but godDAMN they are great now. RETRO is cool too, but Crossroads is so much better it's not even funny. Danger - Octopus! fucked around with this message at 22:17 on Oct 8, 2011 |

I've tried to push m.i.a.b. here for ages. Their live show is fantastic for this genre too. But yeah, Crossroads was my introduction. I kind of like the other albums too, but this one is phenomenal. They really seem to have matured and just gotten better with time.

Specific tracks that you could try are Faster Life and Lugner, both on the Survivor album. Those two tracks are a lot like Subspace.

I'm a big Funker Vogt fan but haven't listened to them for a long time. Everytime they release an album I excitedly buy it and then question if the whole thing is one big joke. Like they're trying to break the record for most songs written based on the same song. Survivor is their best CD IMO, with Thanks For Nothing bringing up the rear. It's worth getting Always And Forever too. With those three you've heard every song.

I haven't been so excited for an album release as I am the new miab in a long, long time. fakeedit: Crossroads is a phenomenal album, and probably my favorite so far. Just found out about this bonus track on the deluxe edition of Improvised Electronic Device and what the gently caress, it's actually really good and could pass for classic FLA? What happened with the rest of the CD if they were still capable of this? Some people think Duke Nukem Forever is the biggest disappointment in 10 years, for me it was IED. [edit] Even the lyrics are horrible in the best FLA way possible. Come back to me my sweet long lost FLA. Babby Sathanas fucked around with this message at 02:22 on Oct 13, 2011 |

I'm really enjoying the new Skinny Puppy as well. I feel like it has taken most of the good parts of TGWOTR and Mythmaker. Although my introduction into the band was a combination of Rabies and TGWOTR so maybe I have a slightly different perspective to the other fans.

Speaking of FLA, from the Mindphaser forums I happened to checkquote:Back from Strasbourg. Great time. Got the new GS&C design t-shirt. Was right at front centre for Front Line Assembly. Filmed whole gig. Spoke to the band after. Jeremy and Jared hinted at a possible future tour of Bill & Rhys doing purely electronic FLA tracks. No guitars. Also hinted that work has started on new material. e: also this Full show from Lyon! Good quality, too! Nice. Wish I could figure out how to download it, the links on the Mindphaser forums are broken. a cyborg mug fucked around with this message at 18:42 on Oct 13, 2011 |
