Haven't seen anyone mention the new Skinny Puppy album details:

Due Oct 25th/28th

1. ovirt
2. cullorblind
3. wavy
4. ashas
5. gambatte
6. icktums
7. point
8. brownstone
9. vyrisus
10. village
11. noisex

Brownstone is a reference to an Ohgr thing which is... interesting.
Apparently there's samples here but I can't get it to load.

Someone (people involved in Club Antichrist in London, apparently?) is claiming to be putting on a 50,000 capacity outdoor goth/industrial festival in the southeast of England next year with a fairly ridiculous lineup already.

http://alt-fest.com/

I'd be surprised if they got even a tenth of that the capacity (unless the European types who go to festivals on the mainland come over to Blighty and every goth who has given up on the UK scene comes out) and am fully expecting all of the big names to cancel or turn out to be not actually confirmed or the whole thing to be made up. But it's nice to hope.

Leeds fest was 75,000 last year and that's almost become a rite of passage for 16 year olds to go and get ~so wasted~ on cider. Do they really think they'll get only 33% less people than one of the biggest festivals in the country? Christ.

e: Prodigy are #6 on the most requested list? I always assumed they'd get looked down on for being too poppy and mainstream. http://alt-fest.com/index.php/line-ups/main-stage-vote

I have, but they're absolute pricks who hate prodigy so I guess I was just basing it off them when I shouldn't v :) v

I hope they do Manchester International Festival again this year. Seeing Kraftwerk in a velodrome just seemed perfect.

Ogre ODed during the recording of Last Rights I think, he was heavily into it.

There's an old legend that part of the soundscapes on Knowhere? is a sample of Ogre ODing in the studio.

Speaking of Raymond Watts, he actually released a soundtrack recently, which is the first proper full length he's done since 2004 I think?

It sounds 90s as all hell to me. Depends if you consider that could or bad if you'll like it, but sadly no vocals:

Okay, so that Alt-Fest thing in the UK next summer now has a kickstarter apparently. I guess this is how festivals fund themselves further in this bold social media age?

I'm still pretty sceptical about the whole thing - given that it's around a month after the usual date for Amphi and probably featuring some of the same bands, I can't imagine it pulling in the big mainland Europe crowd they presumably need to fill out the numbers, even if all those bands actually play (given the not-very-high numbers at most scene events in the UK) Will be interesting to see what Resistanz do about this next year, since a fair amount of the high-profile headline type acts are all at AF.

They really expect to get a license for a tent which sells fetish gear and implies there's actual loving? On land owned by a Duke who supports fox hunting and is filled with Ferraris? Optimists of the Year 2013 I think.

Anyone heard anything about this 'industrial supergroup' Primitive Race?

Apparently it consists of 'Chris Vrenna (tweaker, nin, manson), Luc Van Acker (revco), Raymond Watts (pig, kmfdm), Dave Ogilvie (skinny puppy, call me maybe (really)), Mark Thwaite (revco/ministry), Graham Crabb (pop will eat itself), Erie Loch (idk? ministry/revco remixes?), Chris Kniker (lords of acid) and more!'

They've got a kickstarter (which, to be fair, they've hit) and all. Go to a baseball game with their manager for $100:

No clips whatsoever so far I think?

Nice to see Watts back making proper music, and that isn't a bad lineup.

They released a new album back in 2009 I think? Atkins spends most of his time not paying royalties plugging his books and doing seminars nowadays.

No Graham Crabb on it though I believe, that was the brief Mansell-only era. Think it was produced by Trent Reznor as well?

You can hear some of the songs from the lost album on this bootleg:

Speaking of Raymond, Primitive Race finally got around to releasing some music, albeit 5 second clips of songs:

Some potential, but I'll wait for longer clips before judging.

As well, the liner notes by Adam Mole are wonderful ... unfortunately it's marked as part six of six ... I think I have the Box Frenzy remaster, but now kind of want to grab the rest...

The liner notes are some of the best parts of the reissues. Some great stories in there. I wish Adam would write a book about the PWEI days, if it would be anything like his notes it would be a must-buy.

I also picked up the Dos Dedos remaster today. ALOTOCB is interesting, 100% Is **it has been one of my favourite PWEI songs so it's nice to have a proper recording of that, and Talent plus Attitude equals Dollars is the kind of song only they could pull off and not have it sound cheesy.

Also it's nice to know that even with lyrics Zero Return is still the worst song they've ever done.

Man, Kraftwerk tickets for their UK tour sold out in 5 minutes. Haven't seen them since 2009 in Manchester, which was one of their first 3D gigs and they only had it for about 3 songs, so should be good.

Seriously though why are 4 old german men on laptops selling out tours this fast 13 years since their last album. They must be loaded.

Is that coming out in any other format? I'm only seeing vinyl.

If you buy an old copy of Quake, it has the soundtrack on there as it played directly off the CD. I don't think there's any digital/cassette formats though.
