It's not shocking at all that mostly males are up in arms about this whole thing, is what I was getting at. FWIW i think what you did was cool, Twiin.

e: on the topic of good heavy industrial, I can't believe I didn't remember Firewerk earlier.

Also I found Descent II at Goodwill and it's got an excellent metal/industrial soundtrack that will play right off your car stereo, since it's from that era. Good times.

yes! that soundtrack is so good. I still listen to it from time to time. Ogre and Walk did a track or two on there iirc.

I had a chance to visit someone who got a copy of weapon from ogre himself and listened to (some of) it.

gotta say that its better than I expected it to be. those who really hated handover will be pleasantly surprised with this album. it really sounds like skinny puppy's renaissance. also, the "remake" of solvent was a joy to listen to.

Does it sound like Skinny Puppy or does it sound like the weird hybrid OhGr/SP thing they've had going on for a while now?

well I could definitely hear Walk's (over)production in the tracks I heard.

e: oh it's streaming now. Sounds like they've gone full-circle.

I am so psyched right now. saw ayria last night and she rocked hard. displacer were a real breath of fresh air, and caustic projected The Room in (almost) its entirety while they performed. seriously an incredible night.

aftermath rules. gotta give idyd, dsol, and scott (forgive me if i forgot anyone) credit for putting this together in a matter of weeks.

While not industrial themselves, Puscifer released a special remix LP and its got a handful of super creative people on there. It covers a lot of ground stylistically. I mean, Lead Into Gold right out the gate! Also the Baseck remix is obscenely well done.

Get it here.

Their new stuff is all too smooth and dancey

Its definitely no sheikh aljama or comisario. Each album still manages to stand pretty well on its own though. I guess arturo's move from hardware to software would have something to do with it. Seems like he is able to focus more on obsessive trance-inducing repetition and weirdo sample manipulation since cables and wires no longer pose an obstacle. I can appreciate that.

caught Boy Harsher a couple nights ago. they were having technical difficulties and cut the set short. they put on a great show despite the setbacks. gus was blowing into some kind of wind controller which triggered some beefy sounding droning note. jae really belted it out in a way you would not have heard on their recordings. they are the most normal and personable people ive ever met too. if they are coming through your town, you should see them.

An acquaintance of mine was recently hired by NSK to release a print for Laibach. It looks super slick and thought it was worth sharing here.

If anyone's interested in seeing more photos, or buying one for themselves, they're sold here. I would love one for myself, but I can't afford it.

Take it up with management at serigraph. They are the ones who decided on pricing. Not the dude i know who made the prints, or Laibach. It is a bummer that they chose to price it like that, but as a fan of Laibach, I thought sharing it here would be nice. I happen to like the artwork.

Yes. A friend of mine lent me a cd of Time Machines just last week. I guess dais records reissued it recently with a handful of cool stickers. Really great a lot of Coil material is being made more readily accessible on Spotify and iTunes and such.
